How's this gun zer0 build?

https://bl2skills.com/patch/assassin.html#555551005150555105010550510000

I’v never played through as zer0 so any suggestions for the build would be greatly appreciated. I almost always play with the ucp on so please ensure your suggestions are valid when using the patch. This is meant as a gun/sniper hybrid build more than anything.

Thank you for any help.

I’m not your best reference for Zero but here’s my suggestion.
I’d take point off Optics and Precision. Put them in Kill Confirmed and Two Fangs. The latter is not a “all fans favorites” but I like it.
Killing Blow is also a useful skill to dispatch wounded foes at close range.

I want precision because I know zer0 works well with jakobs shotguns and I imagine the accuracy can help them. Two fangs i’v heard can mess up your aiming while sniping which puts me off. Why kill confirmed and why not optics?

Sniper rifles are already extremely accurate. Especially Jackobs. It does help for shotgun that’s for sure but the title said sniper. Unless you intend to make shotguns your main gun I think these points could have greater benefit elsewhere.

Two Fangs… As I said is not everyone favorites. Depending of your play style, your main Sniper rifle and what you like really. I’d say give it a shot. If you don’t like it Killing blow is very useful… When you remember about it!

Optics kinda work but… You better off practicing your aiming skill and use the points on something else.

What snipers would you reccomend to use with Two Fangs and which ones would you avoid?

Work best with low fire rate/high damage imo. Like a good old Muckamuck or Pimpernels (Sniders). Recoil is worse but wont throw off your next shot as much.
On a Lyuda it can have a good dps boost but it risk throwing your “critical aim” just enough to have waste bullets at a record rate.

It’s really a personal thing more than anything else.

I think @zer0blivion could probably help you more than me about that.

Thanks for all your help and suggestions and sorry for making the title and post misleading. I’v edited it to avoid any more confusion like that.

We have one of the best community around here. Despite the “recent noise” due to a new game release.
Good luck.

I’m not a big fan of Two Fang… What class mod are you using? If a Leg Sniper, I’d put one point in Kill Confirmed as why not. You are right that Precision can help with shotgun accuracy and most of Zer0’s sniper buffs apply to shotguns too. I’d rather have Killing Blow than Iron Hand, especially with Execute, but if you never remember to melee anything, than it doesn’t help much. Another idea would be to take some points out of Precisi0n (just have one and then you get 5 with the class mod) and one from Optics (not much diff at 4/5 or 5/5) and put 1 into Kill Confirmed like I said and the rest into Unf0rseen which can pick up stray kills for you or at least weaken enemies.

Two Fang , Velocity, and Unforseen are all personal preference skills. Two Fang can give you an extra bullet but throw off your aim. Velocity is more damage, but makes it take a greater distance for the bullet split on the Lyuda, Pimpernel, and Bekah. Unforseen is more damage and way of clearing enemy shields (and outright killing trash), but a lot of people think it’s pretty meh.

It’s one of those you need to try for yourself and see. Take some runs in a big mobbing area with some space like Lynchwood or Sawtooth (or Friendship Gulag for loaders, Wildlife Preserve for everything).

Another thing is to look at your build with a Leg Hunter or Spy class mod (you want the blue one that boosts Unforseen and Ambush) instead of a Leg Sniper. Leg Hunter is great with Innervate for surviveability plus the cooldown bonus. Boosted Unforseen can be very powerful and you already know how strong Ambush is.

Firstly, can’t thank you enough for taking all the time and effort to help me out.
Secondly, with a legendary sniper what do you think of this https://bl2skills.com/patch/assassin.html#545151015150555145015050510000
I’v avoided velocity because my favourite sniper is the lyuda and i’v avoided two fang because I already somewhat struggle to keep my aim steady while sniping.

Looks great, but again, you need to take some runs and see if Unforseen is doing anything for you or not, whether you miss the better accuracy you had with more points in Precision, whether you actually remember to melee anything playing as gun Zer0  You can see in the comments by the others that the core of your build is solid and we’re all putting in our own personal preferences in terms of shifting those last few points around. You’ll find your own by trying different ones out against tougher enemies. Rustyards is another good map for mid to long range mobbing. Don’t forget about trying a Leg Hunter with your build either, dunno if you’re playing on L80 or OP10 but that extra surviveability from the boosted cooldown and bonus health on Deception is really strong. Again though, personal preferences, most of the strong sniper Zer0 players I’ve seen (I’m not one of them, but I have played him at max level a bit) use the Leg Sniper.

Great advice from everybody!

2 Fang can be tricky with snipers, but it can work. Pimpernels and snipers that don’t have alot of recoil. You can test by shooting a wall in Sanctuary and checking the bullet decals when 2fang procs.

If you have the newest DLC, The Amigo is a Jakobs sniper that doesn’t suffer to much from recoil , does massive damage and bypasses enemy shields. There are actually a lot of players that avoid using it because it is so OP. I’ll use it if I’m playing at OP10. It’s overkill at 80(but can still be great fun!).

Diaubs with good parts can also use 2fang. It’s a great gun for sniper Zer0.

All that said, if playing mostly with snipers, I wouldn’t spec into 2fang(which I see you haven’t).

Not much more to add, most everything has been covered. Your build looks good!

Do you mean all recoil reduction parts?

Right, Dahl stock is best, Hyperion isn’t terrible. Most Diaubs I’ve used didn’t suffer from excessive recoil like a Muckamuck does. You can probably use any stock that isn’t Jakobs.

Of the Jakobs snipers it’s probably the best for stacking CA because of it’s fire rate. Even better if you can get the Klook(firerate) prefix. Of course Vladof snipers are going to be the best for CA, but they chew through your ammo so fast.

No problem! As much as I’m enjoying BL3, Zer0 is still my favorite VH. He can be played so many ways.
