Question about Blast Master Class Mod and COV guns

This idea popped into my head tonight as I’m already running a Pain is Power/ Elemental Projector build but the BM class mod says the longer you go without reloading the more splash damage you deal, but how does it look at the overheats on COV guns? Will it treat the overheat as a reload? And do increases to magazine size also affect the number of shots before the gun overheats?

Matched set reduces heat build up, but in practice, it feels pretty negligible. Iron Bank increases the number of rounds you can fire before the gun breaks.

I only tested it once using a COV gun with 50% damage for 2 mags, but I believe the break is what counts as a reload.

One thing to keep in mind is that you need a splash damage gun in order for the effect to proc.
