I haven’t been able to get this class mod yet as I am just starting a Moze, but it sounds like the type of COM that could be either incredibly OP or super-underwhelming.
The description says: “The longer Moze goes without reloading, the more splash damage she deals. Up to +100% Splash Damage”. What does this mean? How is the duration without reloading computed? Is it from the first shot you fire? Or is it from the first shot you fire? Or from your previous reload? And how long does it take to reach its maximum damage?
After some testing on Kevin in sanctuary, here’s what I personally found:
-It takes 60 seconds of not reloading to get 100% splash damage.
-The mechanic of getting to 100% splash damage is time based, not based on how often you’re shooting or anything like that. So simply waiting for 60 seconds could give you 100%.
-Switching weapons will not affect/reset splash bonus, and if you’re at 100% already, it will boost all splash weapons you switch to.
-Here’s the kicker: STARTING the reload animation will cancel your bonus…which means you can’t melee-cancel or switch-cancel to keep from losing it.
-Fast traveling does not cancel the splash bonus
-Quitting and reloading does start the bonus over.
This was tested with a Westergun, with no perks, and splash hits only.
I don’t know, it’s a really good question that I never considered until I saw you ask it. It shouldn’t for most things Iron Bear and Moze are separate entities.
Specialist bear + Lock and Speedload + blast master ain’t bad either Bonus if you can get area-of-effect damage on relic and splash damage roll on your class mod ! Exploding. Bullets is great for more precision mid range combat
I’ll try that out. I actually do put a point in specialist bear already just in case I need IB to put a dent in something. I can’t wait for IB to be buffed
