Does wildfire even work?

So I’ve been playing melee amara and due to some playing in proving grounds, i’m pretty consistently 5-10 levels above the story enemies.

for a while I had on the red suit that constantly deals radiation damage to enemies near me in hopes the dots would spread and help soften enemies/take some weaker ones out as I was running around. however, I’ve never seen it chain over to a second enemy out of my area.

is it maybe only gun damage dots that apply it? is it just bugged? i’d love to see videos of it actually working if there are some so that I know what to keep my eye out for.

I want to say this is the case. Also it does feel like the radius on it isn’t huge.

Melee Dots can pop it

I believe it’s because of how small the range is

The range is short on wildfire, A singularity firestorm is a very nice grenade to use if you want it to gather and spread though buddy.

The entire skill should be replaced. Even if it is working, a 40% chance to apply a DOT in a small radius is pathetic, even if DOTs in BL3 are stronger than BL2.

I wouldn’t say remove just increase the range

I sometimes feel they just put in ■■■■ like Wildfire, Catharsis and Conflux to balance out the rest of the amazing skills in that tree.

When conflux pop it’s beautiful I only have 1 points in it for my melee build but it works

I feel the same.

FotE has absolutely amazing skills, but we forced to skill some stuff that has little to no impact to get to the good stuff.

Just did some testing on this today, spent like 15 minutes with 5/5 (40%) trying to proc it in a very tight pack of skags. With “tight” I mean they were actually touching each other. It never happened, and using different elements didn’t matter. It seems to me that this skill doesn’t do anything at all.

It’s still working for me just need a range increase to make it more efficient
