I was confused when shadow trap wasnt in the Eclipse/EOS fight but then found out you can farm him in the mutator arena, jw at what difficulty does he appear I’ve gone up to 5 and he didn’t appear.

It’s random, he can appear at any time for wave 3.

still think they should have kept him in the eclipse/eos fight it would have been so much easier, he drops the laser disker right?
Yep, I’ve had him spawn randomly from 1 - 5. I don’t know if he has a higher chance at 6+ because I usually stay at 5 but he seems to have no higher chance at 5 than he does at 1.
Both of my laser diskers came in the EOS/Eclipse fight and were up on the platform. Shadow Trap randomly shows up the EOS/Eclipse fight but seems to have very little health and to my knowledge doesn’t drop legendaries there though i am not 100% sure. In the mutator I have seen him quite a bit at lvl8 but can’t comment on the other levels frequency, just pointing out that i believe it would be faster to farm EOS/Eclipse than farm ST in the mutator.

Any difficulty from my experiences.
Thank Jack he didn’t spawn the one time my girlfriend and I picked level 9 or things would have gotten Borderlands 2 tedious.

Sorry to hear about that.
My girlfriend is the one who got me into the Borderlands franchise actually.
We play together so much that I consider her the second half to my build and vice versa (she’s a Gladiator while I’m an Enforcer).
But I digress, the chances to spawn Shadow Trap in the arena are completely random and NOT difficulty dependent (The only factors that change depending on difficulty are how much time you’re going to spend killing him if he shows.)
He has a chance to drop the Legendary Hyperion shield the Rerouter and the Legendary Tediore Laser the Laser Disker.
I can’t say anything about the shield as I couldn’t give half a Skag about Amp shields in both TPS or BL2 but the Laser Disker is to me the best Laser in the game next to the Absolute Zero.
