Amara the Siren Sheriff: A One Shot Build

Playthrough

This is a build in progress but so far the results are pretty great.

Build (WIP)

The Idea of the Build

Remnant gets overkill damage, and Amara has the ability to do a lot of AOE damage to weaken enemies so you should be able to get overkill damage high.

So I wanted high base damage guns but also wanted to focus on Jakobs so I get more free damage with reflections.

As all this progressed it turned into sharing high damage and damage overkill with Ties that Bind.

The Gear

Monocle - Jakobs sniper with a massive crit bonus to get the highest possible single shot damage.
Unforgiven - Like the Monocle, a ton of damage with high crit.
One Pump Chump - This Jakobs shotty has crazy high damage but one bullet.
Bekah - Sometimes you can’t get your overkill going and you need some DPS.
Phasezerker This com will add a lot to gun damage which plays nice with big crit bonus, also helps your cooldown a lot.
Grenades I use a transfusion because this build is a glass cannon. It’s piss sounds good but un needed most the time, might be good to keep for bosses.
Artifacts I like otto idols for more healing but any that fit for you will work.
Sheilds Many use the re router but you don’t need that extra damage, I like tanky shields because the build is a glass cannon and you don’t need more damage you need survival.

How it all works

You Phasegrasp the first enemy you see and start the chain, you want to focus a weak enemy first to build some overkill. Since you have Stillness of Mind you can control the bigger enemies while shooting the weaker ones.

As your damage grows Ties that Bind and Do No Harm will start killing every enemy in range with one bullet, including anointed enemies. Overkill does have a cap to it and does not take long to get there by focusing on the weakest first. Many times stronger enemies will die without you shooting them.

So ironically while this build uses slow guns it kills fast because you get so much “free” damage everywhere, things just die.

Action Skill Set Up

Ties that Bind

  • This is to share your massive damage and kill many enemies with few bullets

Stillness of Mind

  • This will give you the crowd control needed since you are a glass cannon and need to avoid being shot

All 3 elements

  • While you might not need all 3 often when you do need them you will be thankful you do have them.

The most Important Skills

Before I list the skills, any skill not here is optional. You will want to get many damage skills so you have more overkill and many damage skills are boosted by the high crit bonus on the guns in this build.

Also on the 3 trees you want all 3 action skill elements

  • Mystical Assault you go to the capstone
  • Fist of the elements only go deep enough to get Ties that Bind 15 points.
  • Brawl you want to spend at least 5 points to get to Blight Tiger to get corrosive action skills.

Do No Harm 5/5

  • This boosts the damage to enemies attached with Ties that Bind, a must have

Restless as many points as you can fit

  • You want a lot of Phasegrasp

Remnant 1/3

  • The overkill damage is pretty much all the damage so you do not need more than 1 point.
  • This will seek out any enemy that did not die from Ties that Bind and it one shots most enemies and even some bosses

Awakening 3/3

  • This boosts your rush stacks and Do No Harm are rush stacks so you want to max this out

Avatar 1/1

  • This capstone is really important, gives you more rush stacks and lets you use your action skill more.

Infusion 5/5

  • This makes your non elemental guns have elements so you can crank your damage higher and helps negate mayhem penalties
  • @DankRafft’s Guide on it

Tempest 5/5

  • Boosts your infusion damage

Dread 1/1

  • More gun damage while you grasp, helping start your overkill, also re loads your gun on kill if you have phasegrasp active.

Personal Space 3/3

Clarity 2/5 or more

  • You will want to get down far enough so you can use your corrosive element for some maps and bosses. You also don’t have much healing. I have this 4/5.

Alacrity is bugged atm and doesn’t absolutely nothing so those points could be placed else where with an asterisks until it’s actually working (which I know with how your build is set up there really isn’t anywhere else worth putting them but yeah)

Thanks for the heads up on that.

Hopefully they fix it soonish.

And the first video is added

Oh! So! I found a class mod for Amara with Bonus Jakobs reload speed and was gonna tell you before remembering you aren’t on PC this time.

But, it made the Hellwalker’s reload so fast that it was like firing a post-update Queen’s Call with no reloads. It also boosted personal space. So. They exist!

Just gotta gank Crappygrandma one time then I’ll pop to Sanctuary and mail it over

I’ve ran a similar build when doing my tests with Remnant for the skills guide. I got better results with a setup like that:

The six remaining points can be spent to either get to Blitz (closing gaps for easy in-your-face crits) or Avatar.

When I invested in the FOTE tree I found that DOTs often kill enemies that have barely any health left from my actual gun damage resulting in no Remnant orbs. That’s problematic when a huge portion of the overall damage comes from Remnant’s overkill damage. Without FOTM, Infusion and DOTs those orbs are guaranteed, though (if Remnant works at all and you don’t have to restart the game to make it work again).

Differences between FOTM and Brawl in this specific setup:

FOTM

  • slightly more AoE damage from Indiscriminate
  • requires a lot of skill points to make up for the loss in damage due to Infusion, unless you’re constantly switching action skill element depending on enemy type and weaknesses
  • Sustainment doesn’t work with Infusion resulting in no healing from your guns
  • often DOTs kill an enemy, so no Remnant orb

Brawl

  • extremely good multiplicative damage modifier from Personal Space
  • the best defence a non-elemental build can have

FOTM? Do you mean FOTE?

Nice, but I love the interactions with phasegrasps too much to give up that tree.

I do hope they fix remnant soon. I just ran 2 circle of slaughters with a friend and it stopped working halfway through the second one and I felt it missing a lot.

Yeah… :grimacing:

Likewise, I tend to always spec into FOTE and Phasegrasp (or one of its variants) no matter what I try to accomplish, even when it’s sub-optimal. I enjoy those fun thematic builds quite a bit more than just going for 101% efficiency.

My second runthrough is an all-Jakobs Amara aswell, and after getting a good Hellwalker I couldn’t resist moving more of my tree into Catharsis/Infusion DoT spam with it. Indiscriminate really benefits its fat spread too, for those pellets that just don’t land. I love how her elemental skills don’t feel gimped even on my regular Jakobs too, though.

Class mods are being difficult, though. I love Artisan but Deep Well is kinda wasted unless I use only the elemental redtexts, or can find one without. I cannot for the life of me get a good Mantis. Master is lovely with the Hellwalker, absolutely. Legendary Elementalist I’m iffy on, maybe I’d like it more if I split Red and Green trees for Samsara or something.

I’d scream if I could figure out how to farm Pa’s Rifle and learn whether it can spawn as Gatlin’ or a Masher! Perhaps not as good as Headsplosion, but I feel it has strong potential if it can be farmed like that.

Added my play through to it

Before 10 days decided to try Ties That Bind with Unforgiven mainly because I had bad modifiers and wanted to find a way to overcome them.Worked out like a charm especially with this class mod bonus.

All of a sudden 6-8M damage numbers started raining.

Have to give your build a better view , looks fun so far

Ps4? I need that haha.

My only struggles has been armored targets so gonna have to get s good backup weapon for them instead of forcing the unforgiven on them.

Well unforgiven doesn’t forgive armored either thats the good part.Just deletes them straight forward.Im on PC sadface.

Hope this is still watchable

Is yours anointed? Mines a 360% not a 432% and don’t have that mod like yours so could be the difference maybe but definitely struggle against those exact guys.

i will give you a 432% unforgiven later.

Unforgiven is now Forgiven.
