Pump the hate brakes!

Seriously. The game has been out for LESS THAN A MONTH. I’ve been gaming since Pong. When games went online, the patch game began, and the gaming world changed. Now games get pushed out too soon, but that’s just reality. Get it out and patch it later. I’m nowhere even adjacent to someone working in the industry, but common sense dictates that multiple things influence this paradigm.

I have played Overwatch since it came out, dreaming of a " Borderlands 3," while also continuing to pour hours into B1, B2 and TPS. The Overwatch community is toxic as hellfire, and I told myself, “can’t wait for Borderlands 3, that community is overwhelmingly positive because it’s a co-op game” and it overwhelmingly was in the previous days. Right now, this forum is just below the negativity of the Overwatch forums. And I’m disappointed. Extremely. Nice to know I can still be naive in my old age.

Be patient. They are listening and working. I thoroughly believe that. They’re not going to be completely transparent for a ton of reasons. You can quit, I’ll still be around. The “I’m quitting” threat is ridiculous. Just leave, if you’re serious, but I doubt you are.

I’m a city paramedic. I see the absolute worst of humanity, quite regularly. I come home and blast virtual stuff to oblivion while laughing my arse off. It’s awesome and a great release. I am frustrated, too, but I’m sticking with it, through all the changes, frustrating and evolutionary, and will still love this game. Not because I’m some unconditional fanboy, but because…

…these things take time.

Get positive people. Constructive criticism is amazing. Ridicule and bitching gets us nowhere. Like my mother said, “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”

Peace,

Flint.

Could also be a case of everyone thinking they know what is best for the game. Myself included, sometimes.

No, the fact that the game has been out for such a short time and yet the reactions are so negative is important, the game is ultimately a black mark on the franchise and they need to course correct, while people may be needlessly mean, the fact is it’s still a very subpar game, that should never have been launched in it’s current state, with so many known mistakes repeated,

It was in production for 5 years.
Five years
For them to ignore problems and say we’ll patch it later is a slap in our faces after 5 years

Thanks a lot for your kind words.

There is way too much hate in this forum. And most of the people have no clue about things going on in the background. Many threads are like „omg just adjust a number and we are fine“ but boy, that‘s not even close to the effort to patch stuff.

I share your opinion. Being a Paramedic myself for about 5 years, working in elderly homes and hospitals specialised on various forms of cancer before. i believe i‘ve seen the depths of humanity completely. And saw REAL problems out there.
Blasting heads and laughing my ass off - yea i like that , that‘s why i love the whole borderlands franchise.
So to all the angry kids, teens and maybe middle aged people without family -god knows which people might be the most angry - jump off the hate train.
There are many problems in this game , but being mean and just hate on the devs will do nothing. The‘ve adressed everything so far but fixing takes a lot of time sometimes…
Even if your super-spammy-kill-everything-in-seconds-build got nerfed or you got some fps drops, your bank stash disappearing or all those thinngs…- stop raging about it, damn there are real problems in the real world , much bigger ones.

If you want to go non-meta, just do it. nobody is forcing you to play mayhem 3 solo if you want to play a build that will not accomplish this - just switch to lower difficulties and have fun - time will come where your build gets buffed.

I think hate and being mean is some serious problem not only in the internet. Trying to keep a person alive while his/her partner is ranting about the doctors/medics not being as fast or efficient as they want… I blame our whole society for this. We kinda have everything , i mean EVERYTHING. And we still want more , and we want it faster and better and stronger. So we‘re making us problems which aren‘t problems, just to have some problems. Life should take a fall back. It‘s just not good for us to have everything.

Humanity is a weird species… I might never understand my own species…

does it matter when even constructive criticism is instantly labeled “bitching and moaning” simply because people dare to say they dont like it?

I’m 32yo and very blessed to have a wonderful 2yo and a couple loyal dogs.

I also have a wife I would like to play the game with in our spare time. Unfortunately the menu lag causes us to die, or get turned around, or even just turn the game off in frustration.

Instead of being at each other’s throats I consistently apologize when I screw it up for her - and I come here to complain instead of taking it out of her.

Why? Because if the game isn’t going to have functioning co op they shouldn’t have advertised it as such. If the game was going to delete everything in her bank, we wouldn’t have spent 100 ■■■■■■■ dollars on the company.

Call it bitching and moaning idgaf, point is they spent more time on hyping the game than testing it and producing what they promised. I don’t need a refund, I need them to do their damn job already… Or at least come forward and say “our bad” instead of waiting for support tickets to apologize for the lies

see, this is understandable frustration and also constructive feedback because even tho you blame Gearbox you dont go overboard, shout in caps or use strong language.

I have no doubt your reply will be seen as “hate” by those who dont know how to handle different opinions otherwise.

Bitching against a Dev Team that just adds a 2 second cooldown timer to everything is more than justified.

See, thats the problem you guys have. We are not white knighting the devs, we just express our concerns in a respectful manner instead of the endless angry QQ that achieve a whole lot of…nothing but making the forums a toxic environment.

I am as pissed as you, I bought this game to play couch coop with my wife, turns out theres no vertical split and UI is unreadable. The whole experience feels like playing through a mailbox slot. On the tech forums we managed to get a thread on subject of over 450 replies and succesfully got the devs to aknowledge the problem, they even went from " its been passed along" to “its coming soon in a patch” We didnt insult them or bashed them.

Okay, imma be as honest as I can. I love this game, but it’s got some very serious problems. The endless nerfing, for one, has got to stop, especially stealth or incorrect nerfs.

While I play solo because I have no friends, it does come with some benefits. My performance on my original PS4 model is very solid, with occasional frame drops. I have no idea how split screen would work nor do I have any idea about the performance of online co-op play. I’m a loner and always has been.

That being said, performance issues, unskippable cutscenes, bank issues (I think they fixed that though)…they’re all serious issues that need to be addressed soon.

Believe me, I would like nothing more for my ice-cold heart to take over and just raise hell. I don’t do that and instead wish for civility because simply put, if I raised hell here, I wouldn’t be doing anything to help. I’d only become just another part of a big problem here.

Please understand, I’m also feeling upset at Gearbox, and I will admit that they need to get their act together with this game. That being said, I don’t want to leave this game. I love Borderlands way too much to quit, especially when the game hasn’t even been out for a full month yet.

I don’t know how people will respond to this reply, but honestly, I’m just spilling my heart out here. I’m an outcast to many people. I just want my own voice to be heard.

dont worry, you are not alone, there are a lot more people like you on here.

Well , we are actually not even close to toxic.
They are people like us delivering a product. We bought it and made tons of remarks how it can be better.
The real toxicity will be to make a silly thread abusing rules and cursing and refunding the game. That would not only not help , but hurt in the long run.

We are all on the same boat , just rolling with it differently.

I suppose we are all in the same boat, huh? Perhaps it’s because I’ve had my sanity break last night, but I feel like I’m stuck in the middle between various camps. Of course, I want things to improve with this game, and I’m not against discussing issues (that would be kinda dumb to be against it), but we don’t have to be so angry about it all the time…at least I don’t feel like we should.

Prodigy you are one of the few user that I often see disagree with someone without treating them like ■■■■. We interacted with each other in numerous threads, sometimes we agree and sometimes we dont but always with civility and respect. That was my point.

I do not resort to violence and rough language unless necessary.Avoiding low IQ conversations is my speciality on the internet. If I get dragged into one it doesnt end well.People that are civil will always get my respect and support.

I hope I get your respect then. Sure, I blew up this week at one point or another, but I’ve had a bad week all in all. I just want to repair my broken sanity at this point.

Lol this forum is no where near as toxic as others.

Currently the forums are a bit salty but not too bad.

That can change, depending on what the devs decide to do with future “balancing”.

I wish I could get 450 replies to the threads I have made regarding the fact that the console version is broken for mayhem modes. You can’t activate them in Sanctuary TVHM unless you beat the story again while they are available on PC as soon as you get to Sanctuary.

I 100% agree! I’m one that even tho others are voicing complaints i’m enjoying MY game. Now i can say i haven’t been one of those that has been experiencing the bugs and glitches so i do feel for that group. I’ve been waiting on this game since my first playthrough in BL2. I remember being on the forums back then hearing the backlash when it came out but guess what, it turned out to be a great game we compare to. I’m seeing familiar names coming back here and i’m excited for the times, i guess this means more to me than most. I’m 3/4 way through my first run with Amara and having a blast. Being in the new worlds (I like so far) I do think along with you it’s a release from reality, taking frustration out on toons in creative ways that make me laugh helps.

I see the passion in the fan base and Gearbox does to, things will be better just not overnight. One thing i like about this game’s forum tho are the moderators, they don’t play and that in itself helps reading on here. I imagine new members are finding out also. I check names to see how long they’ve been here when i see certain post lol, it’s not like another games forum i came from that was rampant with toxic immature people. I check these forums everyday getting updated on what matters to my play and suggest we give it some time for the dust to settle. It will. I think you see that hence the post. Anyway like i said good post from a vet member and hope game play gets better for all.
