Damage output when passing playing dirty

Hey guys, so when it comes to playing dirty and the right class mod, it is a powerful tool.

But with high rate of fire weapons, is there that much of a increase in noticeable sustained damage. If you focus on a freeze/damage reduction. I’m left with taking Donnybrook or playing dirty. With relying heavily on night hawkin it seems logical to take donnybrook.

Donnybrook
Violent speed
violent momentum
Supersonic man
Synchronicity

With low damage high fire rate weapons there isn’t a noticeable increase in damage. Playing dirty excels with single/low projectile high damage weapons like the One Pump Chump or Monocle.

with dps zane you build completely differently but do not waste too may points into speed buffs as they only do good for small range of run and gun weapons like long musket and dictator. take movement violent momentum and violence but any further increases are barely noticable for dmg as explained by one fellow zane who calculated that they all add up to about +10% ish. with most guns u will still want to stand and concentrate while shooting. i have already posted close quarters vampire build that works well with low dmg high rof guns and it does not need much changing imo but there is a room for wiggle. i definitely advice skipping supersonic man for better skills like brainfreeze and ready for action. if you take these 2 you will not make it all the way down to supersonic, but if you sacrifice seein red (which is a mistake imo) then you can just ignore hitman tree below death follows close and go for that but other then runing speed u won’t get much bang for your buck. take care.

p.s. the point in stiff upper lip is a misclick and it belongs in synchronicity. though as build explains both action skills are rarely used together.

Probably should have been a bit more descriptive of this playstyle. I don’t keep up on builds, so excuse me if this is already played like this.

It relies on RR and a infultrator class mod.

Staying inside your barrier and focusing on crits to keep action skills proc’d. Reducing damage intake and freezing as much as you can.

Lyuda
Night hawkin
Hellwalker/butcher
Cutsman

With that in mind with weapons. I’m still wondering if donnybrook outpaces playing dirty.

you should not be taking playing dirty, that is an easy answer. take more reload or fire rate it is not even a question. i would take relaod personally because on kill and with barrier bonus, while numerically being a small buff it is still not bad and reload is by far the most fluidity added to dps builds. so unspec playing dirty and take reload and it is perfect.

personally i did not like CCC’s chances to reset action skills but i did not test enough, since during this play style i am almost always under attack it is just regen but let me know if you find that reseting your AC’s at decent rate.

p.s. if you only run this set up and have a com that boosts playing dirty tho then yes it will still be better than either fire rate or reload speed.

Thanks for taking the time Hex. You have some real knowledge to add for the community :+1:

If RR ever gets a rework and changes how the game reads it’s “shield” I believe it will kill this build.

As long as you can get a freeze on an enemy while you’re at full health (which I think his damage regen and % health regen skills synergies well with CCC and RR) it’s constant barrier and clone uptime. Relic is 35% cryo and 50% efficiency or 8% ammo regen, depending.

I know this build isn’t made for quick killing bosses. But even with no buff/debuff on 3, it manages graveward in under 2 minutes.

  • I believe it’s a bit of a risk/reward with the RR. If you can’t get the freeze and lose your Action. It’s a 18 second cooldown. Compared to something like a stop gap and executor. Giving you a 8 second cool-down. (That’s just my current cooldown. Mileage will vary)

yes if RR made barrier 145 that would be simply broken tbh since barrier would read as full and every shot would have amp so it would become a mini bee. as i clarified some guns will always prefer PD because cutsman is not exatly high rof gun it falls more into heavy hitting mid rof dps gun and same for lyuda and PD is sometimes a must even. but if you went pure dps like lucians call shredifier barrage nighthawkin bitch dictator way then sure PD is useless to take same for long musket. Zane players have to be really all about synergizing with what they are running. the way i play pure dps is no standing behind the shield and never full health shield. so your case is different with CCC than mine. you are runing a hybrid there: hellwalker gets nothing from PD 12th projectile is not much same for nighthawkinm while lyuda cutsman and even butcher will love PD stacks, especially lyuda and custman since every 5 shots they will most certainly reset the stacks if you are hitting those shots. i personally mob with lyuda and mag lasts super long and it is easy to the point where i do not use flakker or lyuda or hex mirv on zane in normal circumstances. meanwhile we get 10 threads a day crying about how weak zane is.(which at this point i don mind since gbx buffs him XD but zane will get much stronger when he is allowed 60 level cap and cap stone boosting classmods, imagine death follows close +1 and playing dirty +4 and being able to max out hitman and still be able to max either barrier or take both halves of udnercover and double agent)

so take CCC if you manage to keep shield and health up but if you switch to pure dps you will find yourself shieldless and with salvation draging your health a lot of times, it is super fun tho.
