ok so I know in gen maliwan guns kinda suck for most VH’s…Now my amara is only lvl 23 or so and I am going down the elements tree but I am starting to wonder about how some of the dmg boosts work …so I found a purple pistol that did lets say 66 dmg a shot tediore manufacture with shock dmg and then i have a green random maliwan pistol at like 24 dmg with shock and fire…now when i try both of these weapons out the maliwan is just seems flat out better and I am wondering is this because of the type of bullet the guns shoot? like the maliwan shoots these balls of shock or fire while the tediore gun shoots bullets that have shock damage …do our elemental damage skills not buff all the damage of other manufactures guns that have elemental damage? im just trying to figur out how this works do our skills buff the bullet damage of elemental guns or just the dot dmg or is it based on what kinda bullet it shoots? and do our skills buff all elemental gun types and manufactures the same?
66 Base Damage vs. 24 Base Damage?
I think it depends on what the % of proc rate is, and also, what is the dmg per second on both of them?
If the Teidore only has a 11% chance to proc, and the Maliwan has a say, 55% chance to proc, depending on your tree, you might see a ton more procs and stacking elemental damage on a target with the Maliwan.
Also, if say the Tediore only does, 11 shock damage per second, and the maliwan does 34 damage per second, your abilities are going to cause it to do more damage because the scaling will be better.
In the case i was talking about the purple pistol had better stats in everyway high dot dps and a higher status effect chance
Is there splash damage as well?
Ah on the purple gun there was no splash dmg but on the maliwan gun just the standard amount there smgs have …why i was even bringing it up i was just going back and forth between the 2 guns and the purple one just had a much longer time to kill n only thing i can think of that somehow the amara elemental skills musta been effecting it in some way cause on paper the purple tediore gun was better in every way and was also a elemental gun …which had me wondering is that because the tediore gun shoots bullets which have elemental effect and the maliwan gun seems to shoot balls of the elements …does the amara elemental skills that buff elemental dmg work differently because of that? Do those skills just buff the dot dmg? I just dont know my main is moze n thia siren i just made so not sure how alot of this works
Well if it had splash then yes her skills could effect it more, maliwan also usually has better dots.
Guns are more in borderlands than stats on a card, so it’s important to shoot and test them, not just read them.
