Notes on the Naught

Since i’m basically the John Snow of shield parts (I know nothing of them), I need to ask.

I know the Naught has a FIXED value of 0.0 on recharge delay. Which means that when it comes to parts, the best way to take advantage of that would be to get the combination of parts to make the delay as long as possible, so as to maximize it’s stats. Capacity is good, but I think the best recharge rate would be the best choice here, since this is really where the Naught shines: counteracting DoTs.

So, what parts would be the best on the Naught if I want the best recharge rate possible first and the best capacity second ?

Corollary question: can the Naught come with elemental immunities ?

Edit: I know the Naught can’t really be farmed for, i’m just curious as to what an optimal version would be.

Either all Scav (recharge rate) or all Pangolin (Capacity) is the consensus on the naught. I can give a bit more insight on parts when I get to PC.

Also no immunities.

Edit: Ok to elaborate a bit more, there Are 5 Parts that Boost Recharge Rate, those being Scav > Tediore > Vladof > Torgue > Maliwan

Out of those 5, only Scav and Torgue Parts also have a boost to Capacity.

Torgue has a higher boost to capacity while also having a lower boost to Recharge Rate. So all of one or a Mixture of both would be ideal for the Naught. As it has no “Special” or “Recharge Delay” stats to hamper with Torgue or Scav parts.

I’ll pull up some actual numbers in a second.

All Scav would be my personal pick then, or maybe a few Torgue parts mixed in.

As soon as you start taking damage and you don’t die outright, the faster recharge rate would start to cover the difference in capacity immediately. Not even counting the inherent value of a fast recharge rate on it’s own.

OK firstly must mention that Scav Capacitor is always the best one. (You can’t get Torgue or Maliwan Resists)

Now, with the following combinations of Body-Battery: You get roughly these stats

TT: 75.1k Cap and 6.7k Recharge
SS: 68.9k Cap and 7.7k Recharge
TS or ST: 72.0 k and 7.2k Recharge

TT > (3.1k/0.5k) > TS/ST > (3.1k/0.5k) > SS

Funny how linear it is. I might slide closer to the middle-left of the spectrum depending on your shield’s purpose.

B stands for “Bandit” (of scav) in this example ?

indeed, fixed it tho

Alright, considering those numbers, I would think (and write that in the Top Gear) that all Scav is the best

Even with the difference in capacity, this difference gets reduced the longer you are in a fight, and the faster rate comes out on top.

from 75k to 69k in capacity there is a 6k difference… along with a 1k difference in rate…so if you’ve been in the fight longer than 6 seconds, the faster recharging one actually has better functional capacity to go along with it’s better rate.
