Just found a Kerboom! AR in a Comcordia Vendor.
Both in BL2 and TPS I’ve heard disputes over the effectiveness of this gun.
What do you guys think?

Moved to the forum section of obscurity…to die an unanswered death…
It belongs here though. Regardless if you don’t want it here.If we just let everyone post anywhere, no one would be able to find anything and this place would be chaos.
I know I or at least another mod has been over this with you before…
Besides, the gear heads frequent this section more. Maybe you’ll get better answers here.
It’s basically the best Torgue-barreled assault rifle you can find, in the game, though that doesn’t a lot. Using it depends on the character. It works best in the hands of someone with either major fire-rate buffs, buffs to explosive damage or splash damage and possibly grenade damage. So basically, Claptrap’s your best bet, probably followed up by Nisha.
It’s the best Torgue-Barreled AR, However, It’s definitely best in the hands of Wilhelm (All dat Projectile Speed, esp with Celestial) and/or Nisha (Claptrap is good with it IN THEORY, but the Huge Mag is fairly garbage for most of his skills) . Also, Grenade Damage boosts only affect the dropped grenade, not the actual shot.
I personally Think other non-Torgue barreled Torgue ARs are better (Think Purple/Glitch Vladof or Jakobs Barreled) on Wilhelm as they can Crit, which is HUGE with Targeting Scope (Nisha couldn’t care less).
Ahem, that would be Athena.
I like it…
One thing people always forget to mention / dont notice, is that spawned grenades after the impact slightly home in on to targets.
It’s meh. I use it if I accidentally use up all my rockets with Badabooms on Claptrap and regenerate them with it.
Depends on who you’re playing with.
It does have synergy with Clappy for being explosive
It also has synergy with Nisha as it’s got higher damage than it’s “supposed to” but is balanced by not critting…which Nisha can totally ignore as a limitation. I’m actually considering puting it in the Nisha Top Gear (just need to get one to test)
I see others have made a case for using it on Wilhelm too…
However, on Athena, with storm weaving active at high stack, it’s basically a Shredifier with 50x the damage…
In short: Yes, it’s a great gun.

Seems unlike you, @Chuck80, to be stating something is a great gun while admitting not having tested it?! Perhaps you speak from BL2 experience? Anyway – heard you were on PS3; I can pass on a Kerboom to you if you want (PSN ID = bevross)
I’m both speaking from BL2 experience, and TPS experience: it works great.
What I was one to test for is if it’s good enough to deserve a spot in the Nisha Top Gear. Scaling at level 70 might have made it lamer or better… I don’t know. But even if it doesn’t quite make the Top gear list, it will still be a good gun.
I might take you up on your offer
Well, pulled out my Rhythmic Kerboom and tried it out with Jack (level 70) in Mutator – it pales in comparison to the Laser Disker (for freeze/explode tactics).
Yeah, probably: The Disker is an amazing gun. But the competition in the AR section for a spot in the Top Gear is not nearly as ferocious.
Though I suppose I should simply put less entries in a category that deserves it instaed of trying to find things to put to fill imaginary spots.
