Brainstormer + Infusion

It seems like the Brainstormer shotgun delivers chainlightnings when it’s elemental effect is procced on an enemy. According on my researches, Brainstormer only comes with shock element. But with just 1 skillpoint in the Infusion skill, the Brainstormer will also deal some damage based on your action skill element. I noticed some “red chain-lightnings” and they were very effective on flesh enemys. Seems like a great way for mobbing, since you can strip their shields and burn their flesh with just a couple of shots.

Yeah, it’s great for mobbing in normal mode. But in TVHM you’ll lose a lot of DPS that way.

yea, i was using the Brainstormer with Ties that Bind for a while, mostly sub 50…
then i saw that Do Harm stacking Ties that Bind build, and it’s like, why bother dealing little to no damage in comparison, instead of just waiting for the small downtime it has, at that point

i’m not saying i’m “upset” that it’s so strong, it’s just mildly upsetting at “how strong” it is, compared to alternatives

i hope they do some massive balancing overhauls to make some things more viable

one can only hope that, with the lack of new VHs for DLCs, they add in some pretty crazy features to give us new ways to play…

I’m sure TTB + DH isn’t supposed to work like that. I’m a siren main since BL2 but I’ve never seen something ridicolous like that. Beehawking isn’t even close to that…

Does Do Harm causing linked enemies to take more damage?

yes, that’s the whole gimmick behind the build

Ties that Bind makes targets take 35% of the damage taken, but then Do Harm causes that 35% to multiply by like 400%+

that, or it’s additive from the multiplier, making it deal 400%+ of the damage you deal

i dunno if anyone has actually done the internal math/knows for certain

but TL:DR
yes, big damage makes things go boomboom due to high Do Harm stacks and Ties that Bind interaction

so you basically can run around with the Phasezerker class mod, use Ties that Bind on the ground so you can spam it to generate 99 stacks of Do Harm, then use Ties that Bind someone in the middle of a group of enemies, and you have an insane damage multiplier going everywhere

Not a fan of it so I don’t use it personally. Amaras best build being based around a likely bug and spamming your phasegrasp in the air non stop isn’t fun to me

agreed, honestly

i think it’s fine that it’s a build, but we just need… more usable builds
to be fair, i think amara has the most out of anyone, though… so i dunno if we can really complain much
though, i also don’t know much about the others

Interesting… how do you manage to get 99 stacks of Do Harm though? Your ability only allows you to stack 10 rush stacks? Unless you go all the way down the tree, and Phasezerker adds a few more on to like 15 in total?

TL:DR
basically
“Do Harm” stacks are NOT “Rush” stacks
“Rush” stacks cap at 25, and you consume them when you activate your ability, and this gives you 25 “Do Harm” stacks

then it just keeps going up with each ability use

they only stack in intensity, however, not duration, so while you have 99, you’ll only have 99 for a few seconds, then it’ll drop by 24 (or whatever, because it’s not 100) because the oldest’s duration will almost be up
