Uh oh - more plot discrepancies! ;-)

So, just started a new Borderlands 2 character (Zero), furst new BL2 toon in years.

Here are some damning and revealing excerpts from the BL2 opening cutscene / dialogue:
“The first Vault’s opening was a disappointment, all tentacles and no treasure (this coincides with defeating The Destroyer in BL1 and his terribly sad loot pool).”

The Vault Hunters vanished into the Wasteland (uh, except, apparently for Roland and Lilith)

The Vault’s opening triggered the growth of Eridium, a priceless alien element.

This attracted Hyperion, who came to investigate this new source of riches and power.

Hyperion, through their excavations, uncovered evidence of an even greater Vault, which their leader vowed to find and use,

But Hyperion weren’t the only ones searching for this Vault - enter BL2 Vault Hunters.

So, this opens up many questions.

Please post them here!

This is a interpretation from Marcus he didn’t know what Jack knew. This is just how he saw it.

It’s not really a plot discrepancy in my opinion.

Yeah not sure what the plot discrepancies are there. Jack was welcoming VHs on the train and then killing them.

Clappy was burying them in the frozen whatever the hell that map was called.

Yo,

Jack sent for BL 2 VHs and told them about the vault.

He wanted THEM to hunt it for HIM, like in TPS. But he killed them because he thought they’ll betray him like Lilith and Roland did.

I believe he was looking for candidates to serve out his plan to crush the Crimson Raiders - he LET the vault hunter from the train live. Everything was in his control from the start. He was looking for the perfect person to be manipulated by Angel into getting the power core from Wilhelm (whom it is revealed in cut audio was poisoned before the fight to ensure the vault hunter defeated him) and therefore allow Angel control of Sanctuary’s shields.

It was kind of a xanatos gambit from Jack - either the Vault Hunter dies trying to stop him or lives long enough to carry out his secret plan then die with the rest of sanctuary.

Jack never planned on the Vault Hunter beating everything he had to throw at them. That was his downfall.

Yeah, but Flames was wondering why Jack hired the VHs to find the Vault when he found it.

I guess I don’t know.

Just asking… the cars in Pandora run on Eridium?
Because, knowing the fact that the Bandit Technical is V8…

Then what did BL1 cars run on?

I dunno. Gas?

He didn’t hire them, he led them to Pandora to eliminate potential competition.

I think what i was trying to get at is that the BL2 opening cutscene story contradicts a lot of what we discover happens in TPS between BL1 and BL2…

It is just Marcus thought, not the real story.

I found a lot of interesting things in the mythos too. I’ve added a bunch of vids to my upload studio cuz I keep finding stuff and keep forgetting them all. It’s the only way I can keep track of all the stuff I keep finding.
I keep meaning to export the vids to youtube from there.

Fair play, I think(!) I was running TEQUILA.EXE, which was a very bad idea!
