Am I just having insanely terrible luck or are the legendary/pearl drop rates on Legendary Loot Midgets broken at the moment? After the 13th, I have not gotten a single LLM to drop a legendary or pearl. They still drop the seraph relics, but I’ve killed somewhere between 80-100 of them from 5/14 and 5/15 and no shiny soul stabbers.
Sadly back to normal drop rates. If you’re on UVHM, you might be better off hunting tubbies/chubbies. (Of course, if you go to the right places, you can farm both!)

I am on UVHM, 4 player difficulty. Almost 100 kills and nothing. That’s why I think it’s broken. Or at least waiting for someone to say they recently killed one and got a drop.
The tubbies are unrelated, though I think I’ve seen 5 in the last 2 days but they at least drop legendaries. Got an OP 8 legendary Catalyst mod an hour ago.
Before the recent drop rates experiment (which ended May 13th), it was pretty rare to get a pearl from an LLM; we’re back to those rates. Your results are quite within the bounds of what you can expect. If it continues for another 100 kills, you might be on to something…
I farmed them in sawtooth cauldron the 14th and got 3 pearls and 8 oranges in about an hour and half so i don’t think the drops rates are broken
You really cannot judge drops rates in Borderlands 2 with as little as a hundred kills. It is not unheard of for people to go several hundred before seeing a drop depending on the boss/enemy and loot in question. I have gone hours without seeing pearls from LLMs one day and then on another day I may get a dozen pearls out of them.

About a year ago, it was a pretty sure bet that after about 10 kills you were bound to get something. After 100 kills, not even a legendary let alone a pearl.
It is very frustrating, but what annoys me more is when they don’t drop the relics. That just pisses me off.
I feel it’s worse when they drop some random green item instead of a legendary. Now that pisses me off.

@anon13808724 Strange thing is, I don’t even think the LLM I’ve been killing have been dropping white, green, blue or purple weapons either. Just ammo, money and relics.
It’s when you get four Jimmy Jenkins to spawn in the Midget Motel in WEP that you know that RNG is giving you the finger.

So, I just reset UVHM to get some OP 6 stuff for future characters. Very first loot midget I come across is in Frostburn Canyon, solo. A pearl is finally dropped! An OP 4 Avenger. 30 seconds later I find another and he drops an OP 5 DPUH.
Kind of sucks that it took me resetting to “fix” it but I’ll take it.
I was trying to farm the loot midgets in wildlife preserve after resetting uvhm to get 72 stuff, trying to get a butcher. I was getting maybe 1-2 relics each time, and I eventually got an avenger (pearl SMG) and decided to give up on it. I also tried to farm tubbies for a bekah for a little bit and they seem to never drop pearls, just the legendary class mods and sometimes a cracked sash. I’ve gotten about the same amount of pearls from the warrior as i’ve gotten from tubbies and loot midgets.
Just ran the story missions in Sawtooth Cauldron, and got about 6 LLMs in the process. One dropped a corrosion/cooldown relic and a Barking Volcana, while another dropped me Prudential Pyrophobia - sweet! The rest dropped cash and ammo, except the one I accidentally meleed off a walkway into some lava. Well, the melee was deliberate; I just wasn’t thinking that I’d knock him clean off into red hot flesh searing lava and never find out what he was going to drop. Bummer, that!
i know. when i was farming tubbies for legendary class mods, i was literally save-quitting over and over while checking out front of ellie’s. it’s probably the best spot that takes no effort to look for tubbies. And I can literally just watch youtube or something else while doing it so it isnt so boring that i end up quitting.
Sawtooth, WEP, and Thousand Cuts are probably the three best areas to farm LLM. Sawtooth has a ton of boxes while Thousand Cuts can be farmed without fear if you have Rocko’s Modern Life open, or at least the section where you have to set up flags. WEP is really nice if you have the Creature Slaughter Dome to drop the travel distance by half and don’t pick up the echo recorder in the one box when Doctor’s Orders is open in the mission tab.
Edit: I forgot to mention that Frostburn Canyon is not to bad either for LLM and is a decent place to farm tubbies.
Stupid question, but is there a list anywhere that shows what the LLMs have a chance of dropping?
