Pet menace... Serious even though I love Fl4k

I love Fl4k. Let me get that out of the way. But I really hope that gearbox will add a set passive or defensive or aggressive option. They really can get in the way when you don’t want them too. I just want to level up Goliath’s and stuff like that but they aggro waaaay to much when I don’t want them too.

Fl4k’s complete lack of direct pet interaction is definitely one of his biggest handicaps.

Honestly, it could be fixed if they programmed pets to respond to the generic highlighting function. You could highlight a target to make them attack without burning Attack Command or highlight a patch of ground to make them withdraw.

It’s something just as simple as that that would make me less stressed about it. Your supposed to be the beast master, not just the beast releaser. Give me more options to actually control it. That’s how you make his playstyle more enjoyable. With out any sort of real control he’s basically just an extra A.I that’s more of a hindrance then a help

At this point I’d even settle for a “Attack my target” (and only when I attack) toggle at this point. I don’t think we really touched on this in the other megathreads about Fl4k pets, but having some sort of settings menu (like most MMO pet bars) would be a really, really good idea. The reason those exist in the first place is to give people the option to either micromanage, or simply not while simultaneously giving players actual control over their pets. Auto attack command current target, defend me, follow, use gamma when available, etc would be just fine with me.

Then again I might be in the minority there, but I get a huge thrill out of setting up the perfect build and hitting the GO button, then cracking a beer. That’s probably why I love tower defense games so much. Don’t mean to derail the convo – just a side/related thought.

To empathize with the OP: the pet is reckless by default. A default that cannot be modified.

I have played with at least 50+ different people in matchmaking at this point and I can say with absolute certainty I have called my pet (out loud, IRL) a “f*****g idiot” ten times more than any player. To be expected with a pet class? Sure, but you really take the cake, Champion.

I named my Skag Champion because I love both irony and Parks & Rec.
