So just beat Jackenstein solo on UVHM (level 72) after some initial frustration.
The big problem is that he only has three critical spots - each canister (while it lasts) and that soft spot on his chest. Most of the videos I found used standard stuff ( Bee & Sand Hawk, DPUH), but they were all level 61 not 72, and those strategies leave you vulnerable.
In the end, I found a really efficient way to take J. out:
Bee shield
Fashionable Storm
twin turrets (Axton)
The thing about the storm is that the shock bolts from the orbs it creates home in on the critical spot. While there are a number of snipers that do more shock damage per projectile, the Storm’s behaviour seems somewhat unique here. Placing both turrets in the middle of the field and sniping from one end gave me plenty of time to take J. down.
Does anyone else have any good weapon tips for this fight? I’m wondering what would be a good choice for a siren, since she obviously can’t deploy anything to act as a distraction. What are good weapons (especially for the stage after taking both canisters out), what makes them particularly well suited to this fight, and how best to use them?

I see some definite trends in these responses - thanks by the way!
I’m also curious about what tactics you use with those weapons once the canisters have been taken out i.e. phase three of the fight. How do you get to where you can hit that elusive crit spot without getting creamed in the process? IME you have one opportunity to hit from range when J. does his stand up-spit out routine, and another when he’s pretty much on top of you. SMGs can deliver fire rate to a small area, but only if you can see it.
So, what’s you’re strategy for the weapons you use, and which character are you using? (I know some of you already said that, but it would be really helpful for anyone stuck on this fight in the future to see it spelled out!)
I waited till he went to that open chest pose of his and lit him up like a 4th of July fireworks extravaganza- also kept some loaders around for Second Winds, which I needed…
