Seraph Gear for Axton

Hi guys,

As you may know, I have now succeeded in killing Pete not once, but three times.

Now I know I can do it pretty easily, I was wondering what to use my Seraph Crystals on?

Florentine and/or Lead Storms.

Awesome, cheers for the quick reply!

Florentine is very good on axton due to its splashed damage which is boosted by his grenade damage bonuses.

Thanks man! Duly noted!

Lead Storm is one of the best assault rifles for Axton. If you want a shield, Antagonist is a good call too.
Flotentine is good for striping shields and slagging, but I never really used it.

But the best seraph for Axton, in my opinion, is the Omen. Unfortunately it only drops from the Dragons.

Omen for other elems as fire blockhead is easier to use. both are boosted by grenade damage, in fact, more than forentine.
Other grenade boosted weapons are hornet, non bandit plasma casters, hellfire, rubi, volcano, dpuh, etc.
All these weapons come in handy when you play axton without bee in op8 and minimize turret usage (sure you don’t want your girlfriend to have all the fun).

I believe he was asking what he can spend his crystals on.

For me its the lead storm (theres sort of a learning curve in use just like the hail ar), slippery seeker (for bullet speed), crossfire and meteor shower grenades which I believe are all available from the seraph vendors.

Are you in UVHM or TVHM (or earlier?). If you’re in UVHM, not all of those things will be available in the machines.

An Antagonist, Infection, Seraphim… so many good ones. I might say that the only ones to avoid for sure might be Retcher. I love mine, but it’s rockin’ a five-level OP buff to be as nasty as I think it should. :sparkle:

If op has limited.seraphs, only forentine is viable. Lead storm learning curve or hail would be better as boosted by grenade damage.
Seeker?? You got to be kidding. Spec highest dps for axton, put on a explosive relics 39%, perfect bee, torgue, mali, mali parts and you still can’t kill stuffs fast enough to survive the mob. If you want it to be a homing sniper, snider can do a matter job.
Of course to each his own.

Thanks for the replies guys, I decided to buy a Lead Storm, with my kill skill active, this thing spits bullets at about 250 miles per hour!

Funny that’s exactly what I used the seeker for

Like you you said, to each his own

Yep no hard feeling.

Better yet chopper can go 1000 km/h. Unless you have unlimited ammo. For mobbing lead storm killing efficiency is questionable, for big single target, hail, similiar to lead storm, which has 150% critical on the card plus 100% splashed damage and it heals you, is way better.
Forentine though slag but mixed in with shock is very good weapon for any characters but very deadly on axton because of grenade damage buff.
I am referring to beeless, turretless axton in op8 mobbing. Try black hole on him.
Seraphim is also good seraph weapon from pirate dlc but it is lacking in op8 due to no splashed damage. Rubi with 80% splashed damage is better on axton if you pair with black hole.
For beeless (can tank with black hole) axton, you want weapons with splashed damage which is boosted by granade damage (steady, battlefront and do or die). With bee any purple or common weapons will do but you must use your turret as aggro and shoot from a fair distance. When your turret is out, you need to hide or will die pretty quick esp. in op8.
Killing in bl2 is easy, just go samfleet, beehawk and you feel like god but end of the day you feel like â– â– â– â–  because suddenly you realize your bl2 gaming experience is in ffyl.

What is the point in not using the turret?
Also, after you learn how to use, Lead Storm is great for bosses or mobbing. Its one of the most damaging assault rifles in the game.

Florentine is ok as a slag tool if you dont have a slagga or slag grenades, but I dont find it a killer even with all the bonus to it splash damage.

not using much of the turret so axton can actually learn to shoot and kill, as in fps.
I don’t think anyone can enjoy fps if axton jump in online start throwing out turrets, gaige summon death trap, where is the fun?

As i said if op has limited seraphs, he is better of with forentine. Why lead storm when you can farm for hail which is way better on axton. Lead storm has learning curve for beginner will have trouble using it for mobbing, not so for bosses.

If you like turrets, lead storm fine.
i did mention to each his own.

Please op ignore my advise, my style of not using action skill and bee across all toons maybe not for anyone.
Maybe one day when you find op8 mobbing is tad bit easy, you would understand what i mean.

I do not use the Bee too, but I cant play Axton without using the Turret.
It’s not only for the damage, but for the utility and bonus too. It allows me to slag and divide the mob so I can focus in smaller groups of mob, and Battlefront is a great bonus.
About the Lead Storm vs Hail, its basically the same. The Hail projectiles split in two and have 50% splash damage while the Lead Storm projectiles split in three.
I got your point about the choice, I just dont find the Florentine this great outside of striping shields and slaging. Also, if the op can farm for seraph crystals I think he can have both!

Also, Borderlands isnt a regular FPS game and the action skills are a commom mechanic of it. But to each his own, as you said.

I have played all toons with action skills in op8 for years, so i know what the use of the turrets. Now i only throw it at some place away from everyone and only capitalize on battle front, online play demand it and i can only play online due to burnout solo.

Forentine on beeless axton is great because of grenade dam buff, shock on flesh is still 1-1, on top of slag plus grenade boosted splashed damage and wear a shock bone is more than just for slag and shield stripping.

Ok i may have overstated the hail splash but is still 80% not 50%.
you do know that those splash on axton is huge right? Ignore the 150% crit on the card.
Hack rubi on beeless axton still can kill stuffs because of 80% splash.
Anyway all these info you can dig out from the oldforum.
If you want to run axton without bee in op8, weapons with splash would really help because of his high grenade damage bonus.
That is why dpuh on him in tina dlc is better than other toons without action skill and bee.
Don’t let me convince you, go testing out at the dummy range, weapons with and without splash on axton. You would be surprised at the result.
Nice chatting with you buddy. I think we should leave it there. Test it out if want to know why hail is better, btw i hate both guns just like barrel 3 fibber, aiming at the floor lol.

I do know about the splash mechanics and interactions with Axton. Dont worry, mate!
I use Hyperion/Tediore Plasma Casters a lot because of it, as I do use the Omen.

Let me just add that the Seeker was a key part of my op8 DP run. With the right relics and build it can take out alot of things from far away. Its basically a sniper for Axton.
