So, I managed to roll the triple eridian writings reward but received an epic shield instead of the red quality item that the prize board shows.

There is no such thing as red quality currently in the game. Not legitimately anyways
I would assume it being red on the board it would give anointed items but the one time i rolled the triple eridian i got a grey shield
I always got relics or crap from that thing. Also on the other weapon slot machines from what I’ve read the red weapon icon just gave blues
I’ve had the same thing happen to me. I took a screenshot on my xbox for evidence too… At least you got a purple. I got a white. 
Guess they are trying to show you that gambling is bad. Which it is.
