I’m not quite sure how it works, as I get 601 item score sniper rifles but lacking in all other departments with a 400 shield, relic and class mod.
From what I have watched on YouTube 90% of the time the higher the number the better the gear is. However sometimes ( like with the recharger shield) the lower is better because of the effect
