Unplayable Rubberbanding In Online Multiplayer

PC Player here. Friend and I are trying to play a 2-player cooperative game, and it’s fine until even a single enemy wakes up to start a fight, then it’s 2-3 second-long latency and rubberbanding so bad it’s like Nightcrawler got really drunk and started harassing whoever isn’t the game’s host. EDIT: The “2-3 seconds” thing means there is a 2-3 second permanent delay - I am not saying that it resolves in 2-3 seconds, just for clarity lol

Am I alone? I don’t see any other posts about this. Ping and tracert have us only six hops apart and at a stable 20ms ping.

Hahahahahah. Omg. I was laughing so hard because right before every fight I start sliding and I get bounced back for a second and I was like “I guess I hit a wall” but then the fight gets started and everything is beautiful Mayhemic chaos.

But yeah. No. Totes happened to me too. BUT. At least it gets back in order fast enough.

Unfortunately it hasn’t been fixing itself for me. Multiplayer is just unplayable :frowning:

Same here, coop is completely unplayable .

This has been the borderlands experience for me since borderlands 1. Specifically when playing with a host in another country.

I had the exact problems, then I updated my nvidia drivers, disabled my Avast antivirus, and I stopped having frame drops all the time. The game is now mostly stable, not at a big fps value, but it’s always above 30fps and is pretty playable.

Thanks for the heads up, but I’m not talking about frame rate issues. I’m talking about network latency.

Still taking your advice, though

Did you find a solution? I have exactly the same problem

Nope.

The problem only occurs between me and one specific other player - if the two of us join a third player’s game, none of us have this network problem. We don’t lag at all as long as it isn’t the two of us connected directly to one another.

Our workaround has been just to have a third player whenever we want to play together.

I’m having this issue as of today, played all day yesterday with this friend, today i can’t play at all due to the rubber-banding. even went so far as to try some ISP support to fix to no avail. my other games aren’t having this issue

Issue is multiplayer is peer to peer. So if you’re experiencing these issues, its generally an issue with the connection quality between you and the host. I joined a friend’s game the other day and the lag was unplayable. Later I found out the cause was he uses satellite internet which isn’t that good for gaming.

Yep, you’re correct.

In this case we maintain a stable 20-30ms ping with no inconsistencies or jitter, and a tracert that only measures six hops, so it’s not a connection quality issue.

I appreciate the valuable feedback but I feel like a lot of people commenting didn’t bother to read the OP.

using a brawl amara, someone ask me to help them kill aurelia, i jump straight away and once loaded jump into aurelia and started mashing melee. i don’t see who am I meleeing since i teleporting left and right due to blitz. lol.

Me and friend have had this problem from launch.
Still no fixes :frowning:
Really has put me off the game… wish I could refund.

EVERY single other game I play with my brother online we have zero rubberbanding issues. We generally have less than 100 ping to each other. The issues is with Borderlands 3 unquestionably., or their game clashing with something on our computers that no other game is having an issue with.
