Can the Luck Cannon still be Grinded?

I read on a few different sources that the Luck Cannon and DLC legendaries could be grinded as long as one of the legendaries was from the DLC. So basically a Longest Yard+Feline= Possible DLC gun. I also read that grinding 3 Excalibastards could result in a DLC Legendary as well, but after trying both of those methods like 100 times in the last two days I have yet to see any DLC legendary from the grinder. Does anyone know if this got patched at all? Or is my luck just horrible?

EDIT: So it sounds like it is definitely possible with the right combination and luck. I’m pretty sure the luneshine luck cannons I’ve seen in videos were hacked or something.

I’ve tried to grind out a flayer with no luck. Im using a thunderfire and a cheat code with a purple Jacobs shotty (3 ammo consumption one- forgot name) but only recieve mostly purples with an occasional vanilla legendary. But many tries and no flayer so it woukd be good to here from someone more informed than me.

Thanks for the reply haha. All the threads I saw saying it was still possible were up to like 28 days ago so It’s that perfect amount of time where it may have been patched

yes. i’v gotten loads from it (you cant have them, all but one where shoved back into the grinder)

Hey man just wanted to hit you back- just grinder a Docs Flayer with j ackobs grip! I used Cheat code, Thunderfire, and Bushwack. Been grinding off and on (lvl 50 so yeah…) and literally said this was the last attempt. Still can’t ****ing believe it. So guess its still possible, just REALLY rare.

Does this actually matter? I haven’t grinded any DLC weapons, but I’ve grinded plenty of DLC grenade mods (specifically the Meganade) in the Concordia grinder, and I frequently get DLC grenade mods as a result (which is annoying because I want a Quasar or Storm Front).

Finally, got lucky.
Got my first Luck Cannon in only 6 tries with this combination:
[ LV 63 Omni Cannon ] + [ LV62 Omni Cannon ] + [ LV62 Thunderfire ]

Unfortunately, I didn’t take a picture while sitting at the grinder. I picked it up thinking it was a Maggie. Wasn’t expecting it.

However, I spent many times trying this combination first, but had no luck:
[ LV62 Thunderfire #1 ] + [ LV62 Thunderfire #2 ] + [ LV62 Two Fer Widow Maker Jakobs Pistol ]

So I switched to the [ 2 OC + Thunderfire ] combination and was surprised it worked.
EDIT: I used the grinder at Nexus.

That is so lucky dude, I’ve tried combos with Omnicannon, Luck Cannon, Thunderfire, nearly every dlc gun and the only thing I’ve got out of the grinder was the shotgun. Unfortunately my luck cannon is starting to lose its effectiveness since I just reached 61 and it is a 57… I’m going to farm for another thunderfire that is my level and try using that again. I can barely kill ultimate badass glitches now sigh.

He’s wondering if the grinders’ locations can have an impact on output - for example, can you use the grinder in the Main Game at Concordia to make items that drop in the Claptastic DLC? No not always - that’s partly what the output recipes are about. For example, please consider the recipes list for entries noted “Moonstone grinds are not possible with grinds using Claptastic Voyage legendaries” that limits certain types of input / output by Main Game or DLC. http://borderlands.wikia.com/wiki/Grinder
