So I try to beat him and I have a hard time.
Level 54 at the moment, using an Impetous Ravager, a Shock Bullpup and a Berrigan, a Foolhardy Sapper mod and a Morq shield (could use a 90% SHam, too)

Any tips for Claptrap against those bosses in general? It seems I can’t hide from their rockets and lazers and get down pretty fast all the time. Best I did was EOS down to 1/3…
As far as I know, Claptrap is one of the characters that can kill EOS pretty fast.
Maybe you should get a Flakker 
Def. Flakker. Reload after the Olt shot (don’t fire the last shot in the mag), and use jump pads to follow eos. Here’s my attempt at a speed kill. Not very spectacular, but works. Killbot brings my health back to 100% when I’m low, it’s too important to skip. On Eclipse, you can grab kills from swarmers flying in as well as from his two shoulder turrets.
I did it really easily with almost ur build exactly. Maybe find a flakker for the first part or a nice Torgue Pistol (fragnum or slapper) for chipping away at him in Helios form. Save ur berrigan for Helios I guess.
My biggest issue I see is ur REO knockoff a Tediore or Haymaker will boost ur survivability tenfold.
Flakker has 3 shots. Second shot gets OLT. If you fire normally, it’s
Normal shot - OLT - normal shot - reload - normal shot - OLT - normal shot - reload
Instead, you should rather reload manually after the second shot without firing the third to get OLT more often.
Normal shot - OLT - reload - normal shot - OLT - reload - normal shot - OLT - reload
It’s the Olt mechanism itself, and has to do with the delayed explosions of the flaks. By the time the flaks of the second (last) shot happen, the mag has only ammo for one shot left, so the game applies OLT to those flaks.
Likewise, when you actually do the last shot, the flaks spawn while your mag is empty/reloading, so it actually gets no OLT.
Only the flakker has this issue with OLT.
