BL3 Freezing during gameplay Xbox One

Twice since yesterday my game has frozen during gameplay… What can I do to fix this? It’s frustrating to have your game crash out of nowhere and then you have to redo everything again…

You can try clearing your xbox one cache and see if that helps in anyway. There are a lot of people reporting performance issues across all platforms, so Gearbox has some work to do on there part. To clear your cache on xbox one:

  1. Press and hold the power button on the front of the Xbox until it turns off completely.
  2. Unplug the power brick from the back of the Xbox. Press and hold the power button on the Xbox several times to expel any remaining power and clear the cache.
  3. Plug in the power brick.
  4. Wait for the light on the power brick to change from white to orange .
  5. Turn the Xbox back on as you would normally.

Let me know if this helps at all for you!

OK i keep freezing during game play for borderlands 3 and i have tried everything that has been suggested

XBox ONE or XBox ONE X?

Internal Hard Drive or External HD.

Working fine on the XBox ONE X for me with an external HD (WD Passport).

Hopefully it’s a local issue that can be resolved by doing a hard reset on your XBox (Hold Power, count to 10 before releasing).

My game has not crashed nor crashed my xbox. But it has been freezing every 15 to 20 seconds during movement or gun fire. Why does this keep happening i have a xbox one x an external hard drive and a nice monitor… please fix.

I have a Xbox one s, and have had zero issues other than the menu lag in Coop. My son and I just make sure to only access the inventory and skill trees out of combat.

Xbox 1 s keeps crashing freezes every 10 minutes I’m o normal Mayhem 2 I thought it had broke my Xbox had to do. A factory reset it’s been ok until today been doing 5 hours a day

This game was causing my One X to hard crash a lot, so I went and had the console replaced under the 1 year warranty due to other issues from other games causing the same things among other weird ailments.

my new One X has zero problems running any of my games including this one.

What I wonder is what with the artifacts and on screen candy all the time if the issue is heat buildup due to poor thermal paste between the apu and the cooler.

I’d be willing to bet a little money that if someone’s console wasn’t under warranty and they disassembled it and cleaned the old paste off, and applied new high quality thermal paste to the chip and cooler, as well as cleaning, you’d likely never see the issue again.

Poor thermal paste can easily pump temps up.

My One X will sometime hard power off when joining a friend’s game or freeze up when loading into a new map where I have to exit the game and load it back up. Super annoying.

Couple of things. The S & X models do not have power bricks. Unplugging it and leaving it unplugged for a little bit (30 seconds tops, not minutes) is the same as doing a hard power (holding the power button until it turns off).

You should go to your settings and make sure the instant on power setting is off.

According to Xbox support, it holds 3 games in cache, so loading 3 other games then loading b3 should cause it to create a new cache file for it.

A hard power should be all you need to do to clear the cache, but the only other guaranteed method is to wipe your Xbox. I’d recommend transferring stuff to an external first.
