Anointed weapons

Hi, This is what I know about anointed weapons. If anyone wants to add to this thread that would be great.
You can obtain anointed weapons from the Veteran Rewards vending machine and/or the Proving Grounds. You can purchase anointed weapons with Eridium. I have seen costs between 65 and 200 Eridium. So far I have seen both anointed weapons and shields that have specific bonuses. These weapons and shields generally have purple rarity stats but come with extra bonuses. Right now, I have seen 5 categories of anointed gear.
• Anointed is a general category that every Vault Hunter can benefit from that bonus. 1) On Action Skill End, the next 2 magazines will have 50% additional “elemental” damage. 2) On Action Skill End, Melee Damage is increased by 100% for a short time. 3) On Action Skill End, action skill cooldown rate is increased by 20% for a short time. 4) On Action Skill End, gain 15% Life Steal for a short time. 5) On Action Skill End, Weapon Status Effect Damage and Chance are increased by 75% for a short time. 6) On Action Skill End, gain 15% Life Steal for a short time. 7) On Action Skill End, Critical Damage and Chance is increased by 75% for a short time. 8) On Action Skill End, Critical Damage is increased by 25% for a short time. 9) On Action Skill End, regenerate 5% max health per second for a short time. 10) On Action Skill End, deal 125% more Weapon Damage to Badarse, Named, and Boss enemies for a short time. 11) On Action Skill End, Weapon Damage is increased by 100% for a short time. 12) On Action Skill End, gain greatly increased Accuracy and Handling for a short time. 13) On action skill end, next 2 magazines get 50% cryo damage

• Anointed Beastmaster is a bonus that only applies to FL4K. 1) After issuing an Attack Command, gain 8% move speed for a short time. 2) Grants an extra charge of Rakk Attack! 3) While Gamma Burst is active, gain 65% bonus radiation damage. 4) While Fade Away is active, gain greatly increased Accuracy and Handling, 5) Enemies damaged by Rakk Attack! take 50% increased damage for a short time.

• Anointed Gunner is a bonus that only applies to Moze. 1) While Auto Bear is active, constantly regenerate 8% of magazine size per second. 2) While Auto Bear is active, deal 20% bonus Incendiary damage. 3) After exiting Iron Bear, do not consume ammo for 5 seconds. 4) After exiting Iron Bear, the next 2 magazines will have 40% bonus “elemental” damage.

• Anointed Operative is a bonus that only applies to Zane.

Anointed Siren is a bonus that only applies to Amara 1) After using Phaseslam, Melee Damage is increased by 200% for a short time. 2) On Action Skill End, deal 20% bonus radiation damage for a short time.

A lot of interesting bonuses to choose from here, but I’m a little concerned that so many of them only trigger on action skill end. Amara has multiple action skills with varied cooldowns while characters like zane and moze have action skills that ideally don’t end until the fight is over. I’m worried that certain builds and action skill setups will be extremely undesirable at end game just because they don’t interact well with these annointed perks.

That’s my concern as well. Alot of the anointed perks seem to massively favor Amara’s Phasecast and Fl4k’s Rakk Attack, while stuff like F4de Away, Gamma Burst, Zane’s whole playstyle and IB really lose alot of these perks.

And the size of the bonuses given honestly seems a little excessive. I hope for balancing purposes that only non-uniques can be anointed which gives them a edge against the more powerful legendaries like glitch weapons in tps.

Hopefully with amaras annointed buffs they apply to all variants of the actionskill. “200% melee buff after using phaseslam” not applying to fracture and downfall is terrible game design.

…anointed weapons are specifically designed to work with action skills. And there’s gonna be ones probably for each skill. Farming. They’re sold in the black market too

For weapons, does anyone know if you get the bonus for just having the weapon equipped or is it only when the weapon is being used?

More like used. Imagine 4x anointed gunner with 30% cooldown rate after skill ends for kills.
2-3 kills = Iron Bear back

Now the games out, are your ceratin it works with all variants of phaselam?

I don’t have any anoited weapon so can’t check by myself, but it still should work.

It’s hard to test without a proper training dummy but seems to work

I came here to find out about this. May have discovered something.

I have 3 anointed items. My shield and the pistol both give +200% melee damage after phaseslam, and I noticed when not using the pistol my melee is still very very strong.

This might mean you only need the item equipped to use the anointed effect. You don’t need to be holding the weapon when you trigger it.

FYI. On Action Skill End deal 125% Increased Damage to BA/Boss/Named is bugged and does not work
