Which character should I be?

So I’m about to get the Pre-Sequel but I don’t know which character I should be. I don’t play often so I’ll probably only level one character. I loved kreig in BL2 but I really wish he was better for raids. I almost always play solo. What are the character’s strengths? Are some much better for raids than others?

What’s your preferred play style?
Do you like having some randomness added to your life even if it might somewhat detrimental?
Do you prefer being able to tank stuff for limited amount of time but then dish out a fair amount?
Do you like having decoys to absorb bullets or distract the enemy?
Do you despise lower tier weapons (white, green mostly) but absolutely adore higher tier stuff and are willing to hold onto them even if they’re somewhat to very underleveled?
Courtesy of @0takuMetalhead: Do you like the whole wild western vibe while being able to somewhat tank damage, dual wield pistols and plants bombs inside enemies while liking the fact that you receive said damage which also can make you more deadlier?
Finally, do you like steak and robots? like have speedy minions?

I really like high dps, somehow regening health, and something that can hold its own in a high level boss fight. any characters like that?

Not to forget, my dear fellow forummer:

nisha right? how is she in boss/raid battles?

To be honest: broken when specced right.
When kill skills trigger nothing is safe anymore.

I knew I forgot one! Adding into previous post.

[/quote]All of them can when specced properly unfortunately hence somewhat odd questions.

thanks, i’ll probably play as her, she sounds fun

If you like Jakobs, she’s the perfect match for their gear. She even has a dedicated Jakobs COM.

In that case a word of caution, she really doesn’t like slow projectiles too much during her action skill as you cannot lead the target (auto aim)

Her AS increases bullet speed aswell.

But… what about this guy’s xp then, just bad luck?

Too Scoops works best when aiming at the floor/ground. Though, I admit, I never use it during Showdown.

Umm… that was what that thread was about be he specifically mentioned a Torgue Spinny gun.
I dunno, maybe this is a “YMMV” scenario?

Derp, my bad.

I stand corrected then.
Though, if memory serves me well, Torgue is a manufacture you don’t want to use as her, since she’s aimed at non-elemental gear.

Specced right every character can wreck bosses, it just depends on how fast you want to kill them and, depending on the character you choose, how much time you can dedicate to getting specific gear.

IMHO the easiest character to tank/kill bosses with is Athena. Her action skill negates all incoming forward damage without having to build stacks or kill anyone. That’s it, no damage at all with a frontal attack. It makes the most powerful projectiles moot and if you ever go down, there’s a skill that boosts all your damage output by 40% in ffyl.

All the characters have some form of health regen, some superior to others but this time around they’ve made sure to give them ways easily heal.

Nisha can tank quite a bit of damage aswell when having enough points in her left tree (of which slips my mind).
Not as much as Athena, but still a great way to survive the tougher battles.

When done right, you won’t even need her Celestial Com.

Her action skill is IMO the best way to tank since she’ll take no damage from any enemy so long as it hits the shield and it doesn’t matter whether it’s a melee attack, a bullet, a rocket (although the splash might still hit you), laser fire, etc.
Not too shabby especially since it has a fairly short cooldown period.

Yeah, totally. I faced the last two forms of the claptrap boss last night in a party of three as Nisha and I didn’t even have to hide in showdown because my health would heal to full in one shot and when I was out of Showdown my stacks from L&O kept my shield up and my damage output going. I died once, my friends died like 20 times each. :stuck_out_tongue:

I know, my main is Athena after all. Bit of a shame I have done everything as her, well raidboss aside. Don’t want to reset UVHM either, being afraid to run into a burnout since I have several other characters in the works.
Since I had 56 skillpoints to play with I made her tanky, elemental and still being able to pick up her most important skills from her middle tree.

She’s amazing.

It’s going to be fun when I play through the DLC as Nisha.
