Borderlands: Dads and the 40yr old+ fan base

I am a proud Dad, almost 50( hanging on to 40 for dear life) and love this game and have so from the beginning. Fascinating to me, is how many people I know that I never knew, play BL. Perhaps it’s an age thing, where gaming is just not considered a “ socially acceptable” past time for Dads and this 40+. I will say though that the launch of BL3 has uncovered many friends and acquaintances I would never have thought were fans of this franchise. Cheers to all the pops and older lads( like me) that are still kids at heart!

Same here and dittos to what @Budgeko wrote. Younger people don’t know how much we suffered by having to save our quarters and actually leave the house (gasp!) to go to an arcade to play video games

Cool enough.

Hi, I’m 53 and I’m addicted to Borderlands. Well, sort of - it’s the only franchise I actually play these days.

Just turned 47 last Wednesday and still playing Borderlands … religiously.
Having a Call of Duty background, it was the COD online player base that caused me to find another game to play. I’m grateful to those lil foul mouthed brats though because if it weren’t for them, I may not have found my true love … Borderlands.

Start a new character in your BL game of choice - it should help

I have to say, although I have Always played solo, the Borderlands community is generally comprised of really good people. Always helpful and little animosity.

Coming up on 49 and father of 4. Thank god they are all out of the house now so I can get more Borderlands time in! Lol!

Last one left for the Army one year ago this month. Only one following in his fathers footsteps. Soldier, shooter, and gamer.

61 this year, I have been a gamer since pong. I have owned and played nearly every system made. Playing on PC for the last 10 years with my two grandsons 13 and 16. I go by NerdonaHarley in borderlands. I will be playing until I can no longer see what I’m playing.

Lol 05Mustang… as Sam Elliott said in “ RoadHouse”… “ I’ll get all the rest I need when I’m dead “ as a side… studies have shown that gaming can improve cognitive thinking in older adults. ( actually I just made that up and have no idea
If it’s true, but it’s what I tell my wife :joy:)
