How to kill 5H4D0W-TP (Claptrap DLC)?

Hello

The Mission “system shutdown”

  • Defeat 5H4D0W-TP
    Take back the H-Source
    Level 37

I am currently level 39 and my character is: Wilhelm

I gave jack the key which turns out was not jack and then you have to
fight the giant robot again… The furthest ive got is when his shield
recharges for the 2nd time. But I keep dying… its really hard and
frustrating

Rocket launchers are no good and they dont even touch him

Please please please can somebody tell me how to do this?

or even help me?
Xbox one GT: T3ddy B4gW3LL, I currently have no mic… but if anybody is
willing to just help me kill him please can you send me a msg and il
invite you

I am pulling my hair out and wondering why they made a
enemy/boss Sooooo hard and difficult. its making me go off the game and
avoid it… Ive been trying to kill him since Tuesday

Thank you for your time

There is a search feature you know, works pretty well:

Anyway, a good all-round tactic is to find one of the two vertical tubes with jump-pads underneath them, (they’re off to the sides of the main bridge), and just bounce up and down. You can use a slam to stay in the tube so that none of his attacks get you, but otherwise you can shoot at him at the bottom or at the peak of your bounce. At that point it’s a question of ammo. Do watch out for his minions, they manage to climb under you sometimes, but you can mostly ignore them too.
Another general tip: use glitched guns (the ones with ones and zeroes flowing on them). You get several during a playthrough of the DLC (or if you really don’t have anything you like, kill the Denial Subroutine, or grind 3 glitch guns to get a new one). They are very powerful on their own, and when a special effect kicks in, things generally get wrecked.

Yeah, if you are still on Shadow-TP, the first from, then I got some bad news for ya … it gets worse.

Read those threads above … and drink plenty of fluids … it is going to be a long fight.

He’s at Eclipse.

“Okay, not a surprise then…”

:relaxed:

this is a joke, im level 40 and still cant do it, the mission is level 37

what a waste of dlc… i cant rank up any more as ive completed the main story and all side quests for the pre-sequel

anybody got it on xbox one and can help me?

thank you

One recommendation I would make would be to use a Gun Damage Moxxtail from Concordia. It’s a shlep to get back to the arena after downing it, unfortuantly.

GT:dhickbot I’ll help try to kill shadow trap

I can barely get health damage on Shadow Trap (which is apparently the first of three forms) and admittedly, it is infuriating. Unjustifiably hard. I am playing a super tanky Wilhelm, and dying very quickly. I’ve tried other specs, other weapons, and “farmed” for a shock bull pup for far too long, just to get 7 fire versions and zero shock versions. I really don’t get how GBX thinks this is cool for a final boss. A raid boss being nigh impossible to beat solo I understand. But a mission boss? It sucks the fun out.

I can help, lvl 70 Wilhelm, diogenes49 on steam, will be on Monday afternoon, Central time US. Also, you are killing those little surveyor drones that fly around him, right?

Just did this fight for the first time in Normal mode last night (I’ve done the fight a few times before in UVHM).

Wow that was tough. Eclipse never stopped firing rockets! I don’t remember that in any of my UVHM fights against Eclipse.

EOS did not seem that much different, but Eclipse seemed quite a bit more “excited”.

Eclipse not stopping firing rockets is a bug. If I were you, I’d restart the fight.

Also, E0S fires rockets, but only at the end. And also if you kill his turrets a lot, he’ll eventually replace them with rocket launchers.

Oh, we made it through that fight, but I stayed glued behind cover for all it … only peeking up to take pop shots when I had the chance. Longest Eclipse fight I’ve ever had.

another bug is the characters constantly come when his shield is down and his health going all the way back up again is a bug

This fight is HARD. Use everything you learned in the game (as you should anyway).

  • Glitched guns from Claptrap DLC.
  • Use whatever skills you have.
  • I like the Morq shield found in CT DLC. Or any good elemental resist shield.
  • Fight smart. Use cover whenever possible. His moon launch attack is brutal.
  • Save smaller enemies for when you need to “second wind”. Killing them all is stupid.
  • Remember that some laser weapons have a limited range.
  • Moxxi laser heals you when you damage an enemy. Wink, Wink.
  • Having a healing skill of some kind is advisable.
  • Use launch pads to get to ammo crates around map.
  • be a bad A** and get aggressive but smart.

Remember to stick around long enough to pick up your guaranteed legendary loot. This is why he is so tough.

My brother and I are having difficulties defeating Phase 1 of Shadow Trap as well. We are in UVHM, both at lvl 65, so natually Shadow is lvl 67. He’s using Nisha and I’m using Clap Trap (awesome combo choice, btw!). We spent over an hour only to chop off 20% of his HP, and that was with only one time successfully depleting his shield. We are completely frustrated. He teleports away practically every 30 seconds, we lose him, then his shield regenerates completely. Is there a way to reduce how often he teleports? We aren’t sure if maybe fighting right in front of him makes him feel the need to retreat; maybe keeping a good distance away? :blconfused: We have good glitched guns so doing damage isn’t a problem, we are good at staying alive/second-winding, and ammo isn’t an issue because my “Gun Wizard” program in my Action Skill replenishes 100% of both of our ammo when we get low–it’s ripping his shield off which feels almost impossible due to his never ending teleportation.

Tips/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Ok, something that makes the fight WAY easier on all levels of difficulty:

Upon entering the boss arena from the vendor room, if you go down and to the left off to the side, there will be an octaganal (8 sided) island with a jump pad on it, with 4 or 5 ammo restocks in the vicinity around it.

The jump pad on the 8 sided island takes you straight up into a tube.

While you are in this tube, you are completely protected from all attacks in all his phases ( his crazy purple / pink laser MAY hit you through the bit of gap in the bottom ). Just keep bouncing up and down in this tube.

When you emerge out the top, unload on him. While you are travelling up and down through the tube, reload.

If you dont want to take damage or need to let your shields reload, simply buttslam back down onto the jump oad before you emerge from the top of yhe tube and you will not be exposed to any fire.

You WILL get knocked out of the tube sometimes, but it’s very easy to get back into it.

I was able to beat him with Wilhelm at level 33 (boss was 36) using this method, and with other chsracters it’s probably even essier.

EDIT: Thanks to @Greasy_Broccoli for turning me on to this life-saving technique!
