I’ve probably asked this before, but I am STILL unclear about the nature of this gun.
How am I supposed to aim it to get the maximum damage from it? Would point blank range be enough to get the damage?

If a close target is big enough or you’re at point blank range all of the pellets connect, just like at the perfect range (mid range), where the sideways spreading ones meet with the center ones again.
Past that range however you’ll lose the damage of the sideways spreading pellets, and if you’re close but not close enough on small targets chances are the anything past the center pellets will miss.
That being said that’s mostly a non-issue because the Interfacer is strong enough even just with the center spread on small targets damage wise, and really it isn’t an optimal choice for mobbing with its insane ammo consumption, so you might want to consider using it on the bigger targets or raid bosses only anyway, and use something else for mobbing, like a Conference Call or Butcher.

If it’s got insane ammo consumption, wouldn’t it be bad for raids? Obviously not Pete, as he has the ammo boxes in his arena. Unless all the raid bosses have them in their respective arenas? Or is the damage that insane that you’ll kill them before running out of ammo?

Yes on raid bosses that usually doesn’t matter, if you’re using it for mobbing / general missions you’ll find yourself running out of ammo often…

Fair enough, I haven’t really seen anyone talk about the Inter on here. Is it strong with any character, or just Sal?

No it’s strong with any characters really. One of the highest potential DPS guns in the game, but as said probably not an everyday shotgun, more of a niche gun / boss killer.
I love it, but always found myself using CC, Butcher, Blockhead and Carnage/Swordsplosion more for general gameplay.

regardless of who is using it, provided you get the ‘sweet spot’ correct
just takes some practice; observe where the extra bullets arc out and converge
you just want to make sure all/most all pellets are connecting 
so it could be in closer range where the pellets just begin to arc out, or where they converge
more a boss weapon though; not the best mobbing gun
