Question regarding the Twister

Hey guys, so with the new content I’m wanting to use the twister as a primary weapon in the build I’m playing around with on op10. Now in the past I never could decide weather or not it’s more effective in utilizing bore with or without specing velocity. It’s always seemed situational to me but everything I’ve ever seen on the topic has people saying either or…but personal opinion aside, I’m wondering if specing velocity is indeed most effective regarding the twister and bore specifically?

I don’t play as Zero, but I know a couple gents that are amazing at Zero. I know @Enderborn1 has a deputy Zero iirc. Maybe he can advise?

Yes his spy build is amazing, I’ve played with it a little bit before. But that still didn’t necessarily answer my question lol. I’m using a leg Killer mod btw so that’s not or less why I’m asking about velocity

This is what I got from the link @Enderborn1 provided…

"Tricky spy With Ambush as the second skill. This COM has everything we need: Cooldown, boost to Unforseen and to ambush (which boosts Unforseen too).
Accept no substitute. " <-- this is a copy/paste from the Zero Spy Thread from @DeputyChuck

From the man himself, he states accept no substitute. So I would go with that.

Velocity and Twister : optional.

Without it will do more damage - each pellet has a greater chance to strike multiple times - but I prefer a few points because of the slow trajectory.

Check out the link I posted above. It’s THE best Twister build for Zer0, and Chuck is sort of a Shotgun Surgeon (:wink:) so he knows what he’s talking about.

Makes the pellets faster, which is pretty good considering how slow they are. And unlike some other weapons like the Pimpernel, Vel0city doesn’t break the weapon. So feel free to spec in it unless you really want to B0re with it.

So what I’m hearing is if I want to bore everything than velocity is a no go? To clarify, I meant I’m doing something other than the spy build lol, while @DeputyChuck’s build is an awesome build and I have used it before. I’m simply asking about the effectiveness of bore+velocity on the twister.

From what I know(which isn’t much, sorry…) you can spec into both and it will work/be effective. However, if you want to lean more on Bore, then don’t spec into Velocity. Here’s my understanding of it…with the inherent projectile pattern and speed, you will get more out of Bore that way as it travels thru the hit box of the enemy much slower, allowing Bore to proc either more often or for longer(I’m not entirely sure on that fact).

Try Boring the Bunker with the Twister. You’ll probably see the benefit from not taking Velocity during that battle. Bunker’s hit box is pretty large and the slow projectile speed of the Twister allows to Bore the ■■■■ out of Bunker. I’ve seen it done with a couple shots. I’m sure if you get the shot just right, you can theoretically pull off the kill in a single shot. I’m speculating that cause I haven’t seen it. seems possible tho.

I can confirm one shotting bunker quite a few times with a number of different weapons(as well as a few shots with others) it doesn’t take much on it because of said large hitbox haha…That being said I’d think hyperious is a much more suitable place to test the difference don’t you think?

I wouldn’t think to take a shock oriented build to Hyperius being weak to fire. But it sounds like you know what you’re talking about. Let me know how that goes. :slight_smile:

I don’t have a zero at all. I would need to start one. I plan too…

I probably am underestimating Bore…that is why I called upon some vets in this category. But, they seem busy today. So I stayed to help, hopefully. I’ll be curious what you come back with. :acmaffirmative:
