I see alot of angry posts here like, “we have to grind 8 levels and go through Digi Peak all over again”.
But seriously though those 8 extra skill points will pretty much make your character all but invincible, Digi Peak will become much more breezier to go through, which pretty much means fun.
All this ‘I hate gearbox never playing game again’ etc. Seriously? In a way what Gearbox have done is AWESOME they have given you many more hours of play on this classic game - and for free! This is kind of amazing! Never known a game company that did this tbh.
Imagine playing a game for 7 years. You do absolutely everything in that game, get to the endgame and acquire all of the best loot. Mountains upon mountains of loot. You’ve memorized 90% of the game dialogue at this point.
And then one day, gearbox decides you’ve actually been playing borderlands 2 lite version the entire time and you have to do it all over again
I would have been fine if this was a year ago…or even 6 months. But 3 months til a new game drops. No thanks.

I really feel for those who worked to get multiple (as in 10 or 20) characters all levelled up to 72/OP8 and now find those characters effectively nerfed by the new level cap implementation.
In my case I have only one character who’s gone into OP levels, and not very far at that. But I’m still not sure I want to take my level 72 characters up to 80, especially when there’s a completely new game on the near horizon.
So on a personal level, definitely some mixed feelings about the new DLC.
I understand the concerns, my perspective is a little different.
My highest V.H. is OP6. And prior to the DLC I had zero chance of getting higher, OP7 and 8 were out of my reach, I’m just not that good. Believe me I’ve tried.
What I’ve been dong instead is personal challenges, like 1Lifing characters as far as I can, though that can be tedious as one plays through NVHM yet another time with a new 1Lifer.
Adding 8 more real levels gives me a chance to progress again, so freshens the game. New skill builds freshens the game. New areas to explore and new things to kill freshens the game.
And I will go on up to lvl 80 and take a whack at the new OP levels. This will bridge me to BL3.
I also like the (flawed) quickstart to lvl 30, I plan to do that with my next 1Lifer.
In the end I’m personally very happy with this update. Again, I appreciate the pain that those who have spent years getting their perfect gear, and the frustrating thought of having to do it all again with this reset. But I hope you’ll pick this all up again when BL3 hits.
I understand how you feel from reading other threads. I’m sure you had plenty of time invested in farming gears. I know I did especially gem stone guns. Well over 100k eridium there
Myself, I’m trying to stay positive. I’ve got six OP characters, then basically duplicates, two of each, and farmed hard to get great gear for them. Kind of difficult to think about doing it again. But with the loot train, well, should be somewhat easier.
Went back and found him. Got about four of his rainbow grenades, a Striker, a Hornet, a skullsmasher, and even a Bonnie. And an Avenger and a Sawbar. Built my money and eridium back up in about 30 minutes. Good advice!

I think it would be fair to say that we all have feelings that are entirely valid about this new change, from rage to sadness to joy to disappointment. There is no objectively “correct” way to feel because everyone’s reasons are logical. I’m happy (almost ecstatic, really) to have new content, but sad (punctuated with bouts of rage) that having achieved the former OP8 has set up a fair amount of tedium I had hoped to not put myself through again. I still love this game, I’m just not sure I can justify the possible hours of tedium.
