Crazy Earl's Store

Any ideas what Crazy Earl is going to be selling in his store? With Marcus being the one who upgrades our ammo and storage spaces I am curious to see what ol’ Earl is going to be offering us.

I noticed they ran out of his area real quick during that live stream. :stuck_out_tongue:

Possibly cosmetics… either that or pancakes and kittens.

I’m still a little optimistic that he’ll be selling weapon parts and/or upgrades. I have nothing to base this on other than my own hope here.

NO! The Kitty gets the Milkshake and the Bunny gets the Pancakes.

If Earl does sell things in BL3 and SDU’s are back to Marcus then I’m thinking its cosmetics as well considering we appear to have more things we can customize appearance of including gun skins based off the pre-order bonus.

While I think cosmetics are the most likely I have hope based on previous games that he will offer more. Eridium and Moonstones had options for improving loot and I’d like for Earl to offer a way to swap out parts on our weapons at an eridium cost.

Same here. Maybe a way to level up our favorite guns, too?

His vending machine reads “Veteran Rewards” …which could mean almost anything really so I have no idea. But that does kinda sound like a heads/skins/emotes thing.

I hope he’s selling more of ‘crazy’ stuff this time around - SDU upgrades are kind of boring in that regard. Heads and skins - sign me up!

I thought I heard rare weapons, but I don’t remember where I saw that.

Maybe he’s going to fill the role previously provided by Seraph vendors? Black market Eridian artefacts would fit nicely there.

I think it will have something to do with our Guardian Rank. Since you can’t do these challenges to level up your GR until after the story, that would make you a Veteran of the game. Your GR probably unlocks certain levels of cosmetic awards that you’re allowed to buy with Eridium.
That’s my guess.

Also agree the veteran shop is related to the guardian rank.
My guess, getting a certain amount of guardian ranks unlocks an additional perk or maybe even an item reward that must be purchased from Earl at an exorbitant eridium price.
This way, you still have options to upgrade your character significantly long into the endgame.

Interesting… hadn’t heard of the guardian ranks. New stuff! Also: stylized Earl is pretty funny.

yup, replaces Badass Ranks, be interesting to see how it works.
even though its locked till endgame does it still count challenges as you progress through the game or does the Guardian Ranking Challenges start at endgame

Crazy Earls door has 2 things that caught my eye
The first is the Eridium Shards only at the top, I’ve seen people suggest this could be the purple crystals spotted in the game but no-one seemed able to break them so who knows yet

The second thing is the “Eridium=Money”
you can see on the left of his eye slot. Maybe you can just straight up exchange Eridium bars for cash?

Cars and forks.

It’s locked until you beat the story, on nvhm ostensibly. So it unlocks before the endgame, just not before you get to the second mode.
I think it might be different this time around as well. It was painfully easy to grind challenges for badass rank/completion in bl2. Perhaps we can only complete these challenges against equal opposition now, which means only in the endgame when every enemy is scaled to you or while going through tvhm on-level.

This sounds very intresting. It will probably change how ranks work and make normal mode a little harder.

That may be why guardian rank is locked until story is finished considering Badass token bonuses made playthroughs with each character after the first easier and supposedly endgame is being redone so it may no longer just have tiered playthroughs.
