Does anyone know the bl3 level cap?

the title is self-explanatory, does anyone know the level cap for bl3? did anyone ask? was it mentioned? I am very curious

The answer is… 42!!! :robot:

Just kidding! I haven’t a clue, as they haven’t announced it yet, at least not that I’ve seen. And since this is a Borderlands title, one thing you can count on is that one or more of the DLC Packs will increase the Level Cap!:+1:

There hasn’t been any official word as of yet.

However considering that all previous BL games released with a level 50 cap, and that from what we’ve seen of the BL3 skill trees so far they look about the same size. So I’d wager level 50 for release and then either 1, but probably 2 level cap raises before the end of the games life time.

Should be 1 Bazillion

On a UI screenshot I saw it said the character was level 99, but I HIGHLY doubt that will be the level cap. I imagine it’ll be 50 base game then increase with DLC. I’d like the max level after everything is said and done to be 80, but that’s just because I don’t like the number 7.

I asked a few devs about this and it’s not finalized yet.

Bl1 was 69
Bl2 was 72
Tps was 70
So I’m guessing bl3 will be 71, but base game probably lvl 50

I don’t expect much change in level cap vs the previous games. Reason being skill trees. They wouldn’t want us to be able to cap everything at end game… Unless they have something planned that’s OP8 on steroids.

I get the feeling they may up the final max level tally just because we have other things we will need to dump points into to start down a given tree. This is especially true for any characters who can only equip one skill at a time (such as how Amara is looking). That kinda means that you spent the point on something that isn’t always working for you or doesn’t always have the potential to activate. I may be looking at it optimistically “they’ll give us more points because there are more things we need to spend points on”… in the end, IDK.

I may be misunderstanding what you mean by this, but if not there are a lot of skills in bl2 and tps that aren’t always active or require certain things to happen for them to activate

At Last check: augments don’t cost points to have, which is why they’re outside of the trees.

I was unaware of that. I tried not to watch too much of the gameplay event for fear of spoilers. That helps. As for Piemanlee, it just looks like you need to spend a point for the action skill connected to each tree in order to start down it. (I could be wrong). While I understand why that is, it also means that if you can only equip one Action Skill at a time then once you start specing into another tree you waste a point on the Action Skill simply so you can start investing in the tree. Again, I might be wrong about how that works. Correct me if I am.

It appears that at level three, all of your Tier One Action skills become available. At level 4. You get your first skill point. Which you can then put into your first passive in any tree. No locks. No gates. Just madness

Well, hot dog. I was going based off of what I had seen from people uhm… “speculating”… the day before. Glad to know that was just a false impression. I’d still like to see the max level be a more roundish number for my OCD’s sake, but so long as I don’t need to plug points unnecessarily I’m game.

In before max level is 70.01 done just to mess with people… >.>

Assuming the demo is anything to go by (it probably isnt, they could have scaled the level and the player so people can get an idea of what the game is like at higher levels with more skills).

In the demo the players were level 30. Seeing as they are still meeting new characters and only have 3 gun slots at this stage, this might only be halfway in the game? Maybe by the end of the first playthrough they’ll be around level 40 or 50? BL3 is meant to be the biggest one yet, it wouldn’t shock me if the max lvl cap ends up around 80+ when all is said and done.

30? Highest I recall was lv 25 during the presentation to display the scaling feature for co-op. The streamers I watched started at lv 9 or 10 and most hit around lv 14 at the end of the stream.

Definitely saw 100 minutes of Zane gameplay in Atlas/Maliwan map It was lvl 30. I didnt watch the stream though I just found the video on Joltzdudes youtube.

I’ll be massively surprised if it’s anything other than 50. Then they’ll raise it with the 1st or 2nd Dlc to get everyone to buy the Dlc, even if it’s Hammerlocks game hunt level awful, we’ll all buy it, same as players all bought Black ops map packs for one zombie map despite never playing multiplayer maps. They know how to get as much money as possible out of gamers.

It wouldn’t surprise me if all 4 dlcs had a cap raise this time, to make doubly sure every BL fan buys every dlc (or the season pass). I plan on playing BL3 to max level, trading it in while it’s still worth a lot, then waiting for the GOTY edition.

I’ve no intention of paying £50 for a game then another £50 or so for intermittent dlc, too many games, not enough time to be devoting it all to one game and waiting for extra content to arrive. I might even have a crack at TPS when I’ve finished 3, I never got further in that game than past the first 2-3 hours, never sat well with me at all that game, it just felt off but time might have changed my opinion.

I think the official skillpoint calculator in the website lets you plan out for level 50 currently
