The 4-player slider on the BL Remaster

So, the 4-player slider created by @jaredhite1 does not work on the remaster. I don’t think he’s around or interested anymore, but maybe I’m wrong. It is open-source and I would love to fix it, but I know essentially nothing about coding.

So, if anyone is out there who can fix it, I humbly request that you donate some time to this community and take a look…I, and many others, would be very grateful.

Thanks for the encouragement, I’m glad you got some enjoyment out of the four player slider. I will get the code up on github so another coder can give it a shot if I don’t get around to it first.

I haven’t been doing much gaming the past 6 years since I got a more demanding job than the one I had in my BL1 heyday - sad to say I still haven’t even picked up the pre-sequel. So, no promises on when I can have a look and see if the slider is still possible. It’s interesting that it worked with basically no modifications from BL1 to BL2 but the remaster broke it. I wonder if this was intentional or a side-effect of something else.

Here’s the github link: https://github.com/JaredPhelps/BorderlandsNumPlayersSetter/

Also it looks like somebody has already made some modifications and distributed an executable for the remaster - if this person is on here please feel free to create a pull request on the repo above and I’ll make sure you get credit and that the releases are updated.

Wow, here you are! Thanks for popping in. Now my hardcore characters can die even quicker.

Has anyone used this on the remaster? I finally remembered to try it and am not able to get it working with the standalone program…had to do the full cheat engine install.

EDIT - actually I’m not sure it’s working even with that…it’s a bit confusing. I know Cheat Engine is working because I can turn on some of the other effects (e.g. 20x damage) and they work just fine. Pausing is disabled so it is clearly changing something re: player count. But, the enemies don’t seem to have any more health, more drops, and no more badasses. I fought through Skag Gully twice and didn’t see any badass skags. Usually there would be two or three per run.

EDIT again - just imported an old character and went to kill craw. He gave the same experience and same loot count whether 1 or 4 players. Looks like it doesn’t work. This is going to pull me back to the original game for my next one-life…
