So i was playing on a new Axton and i got this randomly from a bandit.
I was offline while playing due to network issues, and i had no mods/UCP running. Anyone had a similar drop before or it’s just me?

yeah it is weird, i read somewhere that only the hyperion e-tech pistol and the quest item in the Medical Mystery: X-Com-municate mission is the only e-tech that can spawn with no-element.
I haven’t seen any PC spawn without it.

E-tech weapons, or Eridium technology weapons, are type of experimental weapon featured in Borderlands 2 . Non-Unique E-tech weapons are color-rated magenta, similar in hue to purple rarity, befitting their high quality. They rarely drop from enemies and loot, but can be commonly found in the Sanctuary loot chest. They will always have their manufacturer’s highest-quality (purple) skin.

I wonder if it’s something to do with the level requirement? I know regular pistols can spawn with element at extremely low levels, but it’s very rare to see anything else spawn with an element below level 8 that isn’t explosive. And PCs can’t come in explosive.
Actually, now I’m wondering what the level requirement for SMGs to spawn is. Odd!

Another layer of fishiness is that it’s Maliwan which don’t make non-elemental besides the fact that all PCs are elemental.
There are too many reasons for this to not exist. The level is too low for a SMG and also for the rarity.
Also look at the card : it says [Magenta]
This is another indicator that the gun is missing a part or has an invalid part.
I can’t accept that this randomly dropped in an unmodified game.
Magenta is a rarity, which is completly fine.
But it won’t display it on the card.

My friend. I have had a CORROSIVE SPIKE SHIELD that was saying " SPIKE DMG " with the SHOCK symbol, I perfectly remember it dropping from Tinder after the kill… pls tell me I am not mad

That is the corrosive symbol. The shock symbol is a collection of blue lightning bolts.
Yeah but look at the spike dmg symbol, near the numeric value, it really looks blue bolts to me xD

What happened to you is a glitch i can see happening.
As for the OP, yeah I’m not gonna flat out say it’s a lie, but something might be fishy. Maliwan’s always have an element, besides it being e-tech
