Maliwan Allegiance Build: Maya the Mali-cat(lv72+)

While looking through the forums I came across a Maliwan allegiance build by sids2009. I have been running a Maliwan inspired build for a while, with a differences in gear and skill points, and thought an update was needed since it was a level 50 build.

Upon switching the build over to the new forums I decided to update a few thing. The skill tree and gear have been revamped with a little testing that I have done over the last 8 months but the core of the build still holds true. I had some help with for a few people on the forums to maximize the build like whether to choose Inertia or KR:

I would change KR to inertia. If you have the antagonist it does very similar thing and inertia and ward together will make that shield almost always up.

Damage reduction stacks.

Bullet reflection acts independently. So with KR active you will have 99% damage reduction from bullets. If the bullet is not reflected from the Antagonist (50% reflection chance, 880% damage), then it will be reflected by KR (100% reflection chance, 100% damage).

If you're running the Antagonist then KR is better... depending on the area! Sawtooth...yes! Wildlife Preservation....No! Ie: There is not, nor will there ever be a perfect build. It's always situational. That's why there are Respec stations.

Maya loves Maliwan, I would try to add a Pimpernel there.

Those points in Accelerate, Inertia, and Kinetic Reflection are the only changes I make depending on the area or gear I am using. Mainly I like to run an SMG heavy class because Maliwan is a very SMG heavy company. If you feel like you are proficient enough to not need the extra healing because of the Good/Bad Touch + Sweet Release + Elated you can always swap the points distribution of Mind’s Eye and Sweet Release but like Forge stated there isn’t a perfect build for every situation:

I ran a Maliwan allegiance build on Maya for a while. Given Maliwan’s propensity for extra elemental damage, I focused on maximizing this (so used a Fox and Witch class mod when using fire or corrosive damage). I had a lot of fun with it, even in the higher OP levels (although the number of weapons that would kill by sheer DoT became limited to a handful). This may not be for everyone though… you really have to earn your kills like this, and I think the stigma that both of those class mods are “the worst” will stick with them indefinitely.

I eventually gave my Maliwan gear to Gaige primarily so she could get her hands on some epic shock weapons and because the Legendary Catalyst class mod is insane like that, but I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to this build.

Thanks for sharing this. I’m currently running something like this I’d blindly cobbled together (always favored Maliwan weps) and now I can maybe make it better.
