People pointed out the emblem on FL4K’s jacket is seen on Axton as well.
What if at some point between BL2 and BL3 something really bad happens to Axton and Gaige “fixes” him using tech developed building Deathtrap and her own arm and FL4K is the end result?

I really hope not. I kinda hated Axton’s personality, and if he comes back as a main character for a second time, I’m gonna be sad.
Thankfully, Axton doesn’t have much proficiency with animals, and he hates cats. So, perhaps that’s one reason that Fl4k might not be him.

Well question on that is the Skag appears to have a piece of tech attached to its head so I wonder if similar things are on the other pets and we just cant see it from the angles in the picture. If so it may not be an affinity with animals but artificial control.
If FL4K isn’t entirely a robot it doesn’t look like he has much fleshy bits left that I can tell atm. That much hardware especially in the head could easily change someone.
But like I said its just a random crazy theory that crossed my mind based on a few small details we have seen so far.

I would like to note that cat-monkey thing on the right side of the topmost photo is called a Jabbermon and apparently they are intelligent enough to safely operate guns. So FL4K gets a pet who can shoot!

It’s most likely not Axton. We haven’t played as an old VH, and that’s probably not happening. The games have played out so far in a “pass the torch” manner. BL1 being the badass accomplishments of the past you live up to, and BL2 being the next generation of Vault Hunters.
Having Axton be Fl4K would be cool, but he’s likely a mysterious robot in the vein of Zer0, but without the haikus. Axton is probably with Gaige and Salvador in the new Crimson Raiders. It seems logical.
Also, the Spiderant is a Badass Fire Spiderant, which were really OP in BL1. Though the Monkey seems to be the coolest because Gun Pet, the Spiderant is literally going to hand most enemies asses to them and cover 95% of enemy fire. Spiderants aren’t one shotters. They’re brutal in a stressful firefight. That one really makes me wonder.
Also, he’s holding what seems to be either a Jakobs lazer sniper rifle (yes the barrel does not seem like a bullet barrel, wtf?) Or a Torgue sniper. The parts seem to imply its a lever action rifle, so im going with Jakobs. I’m also presuming that the fire rate of Jakobs snipers in blue or white are lever action based now instead of “fire as fast as you can pull the trigger!” (Nah wait that’s bolt action)

Axton is a former Dahl soldier. The symbol might just mean Flak is from Dahl as well.

Yep! New species, basically they’re monkey, they can use guns too apparently. A pretty cool pet for Fl4k to have.
