Claptrap and the Laser Disker

I haven’t played the new DLC (so busy with school) but i’ve seen some of the new guns like the laser disker that seem perfect for Claptrap. 1) is the gun any good and 2) is worth using on claptrap? and a bonus 3) is there any gameplay of it being used because I can’t find any.

Here you go. I’m not sure if this is TVHM or UVHM, but it seems to do pretty well with Athena, so it’s probably even better with Claptrap.

It doesn’t seem bad on clappy at all, there’s somewhat of an issue witth using it as a gun optimally due to it’s giant magazine working a little anti-synergy with his main DPS skills, but it’s really good as a reload throw (like other tediore lasers), provided you can get used to the awkward throwing ark.

If you don’t have an IVF, this is a good alternative I think. But as @Hoyle4 said, it can be a bit difficult to aim the throw properly, but when it connects…whoosh! Bang! Pew! Pew! Pew!

Sorry.

Wrong: If you dont have a laser disker, the IVF is a good alternative. Disker is insane.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. It’s just that yours is wrong.

Field testing both at the different 9 mutator arena I hit 103mil on the laser disker and something around 30mil on the ivf at best. And the IVF takes almost twice the amount of ammo per throw

Hope that settles it.

If effective range, usability, and reload speed aren’t factors then yes.

Range is the same as the ravager range, and should be same for most tediore guns. Haven’t noticed the ivf flying faster than other tediores. As for reload speed, I’m not sure a refill ivf with scav grip at 1.3s is that much faster than a laser disker with tediore grip at 1.4s, especially with clap’s reload speed boosts (drop the Hammer, living near the edge, death machine)
As for accuracy, I’m always assuming frozen targets as the default scenario, so that should be around equal.

I’d say for the ammo diversity and ammo efficiency alone it’s the better pick over the ivf, since it doesn’t touch the ammo pool of the frigida.

In a single build where you use the fridgia, fine ones better.

IVF does outrange though because I use it frequently vs EOS where’d if have to be basically under him to hit him with a disker (or blindly throwing in the sky hoping to hit em) with the ivf and its straight trajectory you can basically snipe with it. While the air speed per se isn’t faster,SMGs cover more distance faster because of there being no forced arc like with SGs and Lasers. Also IVF has a flat out more reliable throw than the disker as its my primary ffyl tool.

The point being, there are tradeoffs to primarily using one over another, just use both so you get 2700 bullets to chuck instead of half.

Exactly what I do on my tediore build :+1:

One shotting the raid boss big face with one disker throw is kinda cool. If that thing lands with all his face bobbing.

Think of that all by yourself, did you? It’s not that you disagree with my opinion that annoys me, it’s that you state it’s wrong as if you’re the expert on who’s opinions are right and who’s are wrong. Basically you’re being an ass.

I stand by what I said: if you don’t have an IVF, a Laser Disker is a good alternative. Not everybody can get both, so I would go with whichever one you happen to have on hand. If you have both, use the one you’re more comfortable with. I like the IVF, but I do have a Laser Disker as well.

If you have a Laser Disker, and a shock IVF, you can kill anything in the game. Besides RK 5.
