Troy cannot be a siren?

Troy cannot be a siren, as there has been 6 sirens in the universe that we know of, Lilith Commandant Steele, Maya, Angel, Amara and Tyreen. If sirens work that if one dies another is born, Commandant Steele died 10 years before the events of BL3 in BL1 and Angel died 5 years before the events of BL3 in BL2. So this means that the new sirens should be both 5 and 10 years old which could explain the kid that maya is with which could be 10 years old and they might be a siren.

We’ve been speculating that Tyreen can steal other siren’s powers and transfer them to her twin. There’s a shot of Lilith crawling toward an Eridian artifact in the dev trailer and she’s missing her tattoos, that’s where we think Troy got his red “siren” markings.

Troy can’t be a Siren anyways, they’ve all been female and I believe are stated to be female-only. But if there’s some strange Tyreen powers, I could believe him having Siren powers. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Are they stated to be all female? Because a buddy of mine who just got into Borderlands recently, and I’m proud to say has already become extremely interested in the lore, said the day of the teaser that he believes Troy is a Siren. I said no they have to be female, i’ll show you in the assassinate the assassins quest. Well Jack never did say they had to be female like i thought he did. Closest he got was saying you can’t convince me you found one of the remaining 4 sirens by coloring tattoos on some chicks body. Or something along those lines.

Anyway my buddy pissed me off by just showing up out of nowhere and trying to kill what i always knew to be true lol. But i couldn’t exactly prove him wrong. That being said, I’m 99% sure they have to be female. And the same percent sure Troy isn’t one and just leeches their powers.

Yeah, there is many theory’s circulating that troy is also a siren i just want to see everyones opinions and just clarify

Sirens in borderlands are very loosely based after the greek mythology of sirens, in the mythology they were all girls and lured sailors

So what is everyones thoughts on the girl that is with maya? I believe that she is a siren that maya is training just because the new siren has to be young and the girl has her arms covered so we can’t see the tattoos

For some reason I’m thinking we run into the CoV very early in the game. And maybe we rescue that girl because Tyreen is going to steal her powers. So yeah i think she may be a siren. But i saw no tattoos on her shoulder

I think around the same thing, but i believe the reason that tyreen comes to pandora is for lilith, just because lilith has kinda become a well known and powerful siren and tyreen property wants her power and comes to steal her power

All i know is Borderlands can do bad guys. Except for Steele. She was basically an echo recorder. And i love the idea of the villain being a siren. They need to make up for Steele. So I’m already a big Tyreen fan

She’s around the age where she could’ve been Steele’s replacement, I could see it. If she is, it opens questions as to when siren powers/tattoos manifest. That answer isn’t really relevant to us right now, as we currently have next to zero siren lore apart from

“there’s 6 of the things running around”
“they’re probably all female, we think”
“they can messtouch eridian artifacts without melting, and eridium might be their space steroids”

@Raptchur I’m in the same boat as you. I know it’s a thing, or at least have the belief in me that they’re all female seeded somewhere deep inside my brain. Between the classical references, the fact that they’ve all been female so far, and various other things I can’t think of(ok that might just be it), I feel safe assuming they’re all female.
Also, it’s sorta telling that Jack mentioned “chicks” in the tattoos line from Assassins. If anybody would know Siren stuff it’d be him. If he had said “people with tattoos” on them then I could see Sirens being any sex, but he did specify “chicks”.

Yeah, i have a feeling BL3 is going to enlighten us with how sirens really work more than what we already know, just because sirens don’t get their powers from their parents.

Here’s me hoping she has a bullet deflection skill. Hell, it could be exactly Maya’s Kinetic Reflection except it’s called “Weird Flex” and it’s explained
