The remaster is here, just when I was about to give up hope. Blind squirrel did a pretty good job, too. The majority of the improvements just feel right. I would go as far to say that somehow they made it look even more like “borderlands” than any of the other games. However, it’s been a long time since 2009, and there are some pretty surprising things left out of the update. This thread isn’t for the little things (I already have one for that), just some big problems I see as worth adressing.
DLC FAST TRAVELS
I heard somewhere that this was intentional, but I also heard they couldn’t make it work for consoles or something. Anyone with more info would be appreciated. All I know is that if it was intentional, it was the wrong choice for Knoxx. Every other DLC is fine without them, but knoxx is set up so you basically have to go through a 10 minute interactive loading screen every time you want to do some side missions. You end up having to drive through the roads around 10 times to complete all of the quests, and god forbid you don’t want to finish the giant lance slaughterdome all at once. I almost always do side missions, but I never do them for knoxx, I do the bare minimum, every time.
SWAP STASH
I really couldn’t believe there wasn’t one included, it just seems like such a hard thing to miss. I really hate having to ask people to help transfer gear online.
Can you guys think of any other glaring things missing, or wrong? Don’t get me wrong, I’m incredibly grateful to have this remaster, and for free to boot. However, the best time to articulate these kind of problems isn’t 5 years down the road, it’s right now, when blind squirrel/gearbox are still investing time into the project. I don’t want to come off as nit-picking, I see these as legitimate problems that the definitive edition of borderlands 1 just shouldn’t have.
