[Guide] Top Gear for Nisha

Thanks To:
@Exotek for the banner, @Ha_Na and @Hoyle4 for their tremendous work formating this for my lazy butt, @Sljm for his custom corrosive emoticon, @Charrisx for all the links and pictures and @khimerakiller for his very valuable help with the content.

This is a list of the gear that we, as the community, feel is the best for Nisha for each category in terms of synergy with Nisha’s skills and overall effectiveness. Each piece of gear will be accompanied by a short rundown on the weapon, ideal parts and how to get it. Everything is shown in relative order of preference: Weapon type, entries within each section, parts (if multiple are suggested), elements and Luneshine or glitches (if any).
Each entry name is also a link to a picture of a min/maxed version of the item.

A Note on stocks: I’m not gonna waste space on each entry for stocks. As a rule of thumb, the best stock is Dahl on weapons that can have them, with Hyperion being the second best. On Shotguns, the Hyperion stock is the best, except for Hyperion Shotguns, where Torgue is just as good. On Hyperion Lasers, the Hyperion Stock is the best, because it increases the Crit Bonus by 10%.

#Pistols

### Luck Cannon

An interesting Jakobs Pistol. This gun only has one round in the chamber, but each shot has a chance to create splash as Explosive Damage. This proc chance scales with the distance from your target (the farther you are, the more chance to happen). This is an absolute beast of a gun, as its “balancing weaknesses” just so happen to be fixed by Nisha’s skills… it’s like the designers were thinking of her when they made it.

  • Elements: Only :no_entry_sign:
  • Best Parts:
    Jakob’s Grip
Two Fer (2x Projectiles) or Dastardly (Damage) Prefix
  • Obtaining:
    Drops from Badass Glitches
    Grinder/World Drop

### Slapper

Given Nisha’s well known Ammo issues with Pistols, it makes sense to try and get the most out of each bullet you have. The Slapper is a Torgue Pistol that uses the Torgue barrel, giving it the highest possible Damage per Ammo spent for an automatic Pistol.

  • Elements: Only :boom:
  • Best Parts:
    Torgue Grip
    Hard (Damage) Prefix
    Error Code O0L4M0A4 or O0L4M4A0
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop/Glitch Chest

### T4s-R

Fires lasers. High Fire Rate and Accuracy. Highest Elemental Effect Chance among all Pistols. Especially potent in Cryo builds.

  • Elements: :snowflake:  :zap:   :fire:
  • Best Parts:
    Torgue Grip
    Win-Win (Damage) Prefix
  • Obtaining:
    Holodome (Guaranteed in Round 1)

### Shooterang

An interesting Tediore Pistol, because the biggest upside to it isn’t its unique Reload. The Shooterang’s very high base Damage helps alleviate some of her Ammo issues, and Nisha’s many Fire Rate boost skills will push this into Anarchist territory.

  • Elements: :no_entry_sign: :zap: :snowflake:    :fire:
  • Best Parts:
    Jakobs or Torgue Grip
    Super (Damage) Prefix
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop

### Maggie

A Jakobs Pistol that fires 6 pellets per shot for just 1 Ammo. Great for tagging large groups of mobs with Trick Shot and The Unforgiven. Used to be the best Pistol for Nisha before the DLC and has been since dethroned by the Luck Cannon.

  • Elements: Only :no_entry_sign:
  • Best Parts:
    Jakobs Grip
    Dastardly (Damage) Prefix
Punisher (Critical) or Piercing Rounds (Shield Bypass) Luneshine
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop

###Jakobs pistols

Yes, all of them. Jakobs Pistols synergize well with most of Nisha’s Skills and with their high damage and 25% multiplicative crit bonus (which gets applied twice when you wield 2), they are prime choices for Nisha. The Pepperbox and the Iron are the best choices among them. The Pepperbox fires two bullets at the cost of two Ammo per shot and only comes in glitched version, while the Iron has the highest Damage of all Jakobs Pistols.

  • Elements: Only :no_entry_sign:
  • Best Parts:
    Jakobs Grip
    Dastardly (Damage) Prefix
    Error Code: O4L4M0A0, O4L0M4A0, or O4L4M4A4
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop/Glitch Chest

#Shotguns

### Flayer / Coach Gun

The Flayer is basically a variant of the Coach Gun. The Coach Gun has access to Glitches, but the fact that this thing shoots two extra projectiles and has a larger Magazine Size of 9 allows it to outperform the Coach Gun on almost every occasion.

  • Elements: Only :no_entry_sign:
  • Best Parts:
    Jakobs Grip
    Doc’s (Critical) Prefix
    Error Code O4L4M0A0 or O4L0M0A4
  • Obtaining:
    Drops from Viruses
    Grinder/World Drop

###Boomacorn

The Boomacorn is pretty special. It’s a Jakobs shotgun that shoots 5 small “rockets” that deal pure splash damage (so they can’t crit without Tombstone’s help) each with a random element and massively increased damage. If you can stomach the Neighing sound it makes each time you fire, it’s one of the best mobbing guns out there. Almost guaranteed one-shots on normal mobs. Aim at the ground at your target’s feet (or shoot from above) to be sure to land all explosions near your targets. Note that while it has all elements at its disposal, it’s officially a non-elemental gun, so it does benefit from Magnificent 6 and Hot lead.

  • Elements: Random
  • Best Parts: Punisher or Safeguard luneshine. Other parts are fixed
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/world drop

### Torguemada

Fires Explosive projectiles in a fixed triangular pattern that produce a number of small, delayed flak explosions on impact. 100% Splash Damage instead of the usual 85% for Torgue Shotguns, additional projectiles, very Ammo efficient, subtle historical references…what’s not to like ?

  • Elements: Only :boom:
  • Best Parts:
    Torgue Grip
    Casual (Projectile Count) Prefix
  • Obtaining:
Mission Reward from “Torgue-o! Torgue-o!”, when turned in to Mr. Torgue

### Party Line

Unique Tediore Shotgun that fires projectiles that explode into “firework-like” Incendiary flak (Counts as Spalsh, 100% Damage). When Reloaded, the gun flies straight up into the air before exploding into more Incendiary flak. Very Ammo efficient and very fun.

  • Elements: Only :fire:
  • Best Parts:
    Tediore or Jakobs Grip
    Gentle (Projectile Count) Prefix
  • Obtaining:
    Holodome (Guaranteed in Round 4)

### Flakker / Ravager

Increased Damage. Consumes 4 Ammo per shot. Projectiles split into several “flak” explosions that occupy a fixed area. Does extremely well against large targets, such as Felicity or Iwajira, as these explosions can Crit with Tombstone. The Ravager is the Non-legendary version and, while less impressive, has a much more traditional firing pattern and works just as well on smaller targets.

  • Elements: Only :boom:
  • Best Parts:
    Torgue Grip
    Flakker: Casual (Projectile Count) Prefix
Ravager: Torgue grip, Piercing Rounds (Shield Bypass) or Punisher (Critical) Luneshine, There are too many good prefix for this one, pick the one you like.
  • Obtaining:
Flakker: Drops from Even-More-Disgusting-Tork in Stanton’s Liver
    Ravager: Grinder/World Drop

### Striker

Increased Type A and B Critical; sniper-like Accuracy; low Spread. Considering that it only consumes a single Ammo per shot, the Striker synergizes extremely well with most of Nisha’s skills, especially Magnificent Six, FFoB, and Tombstone.

  • Elements: Only :no_entry_sign:
  • Best Parts:
    Jakobs Grip
    Doc’s (Critical) Prefix
Punisher (Critical) or Piercing Rounds (Shield Bypass) Luneshine
  • Obtaining:
Drops from RedBelly in Crisis Scar
    Grinder/World Drop

#Lasers

### Absolute Zero

Legendary Cryo Beam Laser with a very high Elemental Effect Chance coupled with a 218% Continuous Damage Bonus coming off a base Damage that is almost double that of the Thorny Ol’ Rosie. Has a Magazine Size of only 12, but this also means that you can maintain a constant Quick Shot buff. On top of that, the Recoil is much more manageable compared to any other Maliwan Beam Laser, making this a great choice for hip firing.

  • Elements: Only :snowflake:
  • Best Parts:
    Maliwan Grip
  • Obtaining:
Drops from EOS in Deck 13.5
    Grinder/World Drop

### Mining Laser

Very high Damage, Critical Hit Damage, and Elemental Effect Chance. Fires three target-penetrating projectiles in a tight triangular pattern at the cost of 7 Ammo per shot. This synergizes well with Trick Shot. Also an amazing freeze tool when in Cryo.

  • Elements: :snowflake: :zap: :fire:
  • Best Parts:
    Maliwan Grip
  • Obtaining:
Mission Reward from “Infinite Loop”, when turned in to DAN-TRP

### Splitter

Lasers that use the Tediore “Splitter” barrel. The Tediore ones fire 6 projectiles (as opposed to the 3 of other brands) at the cost of 3 Ammo per shot. In addition, their Reloads feature a “Tesla” Shock AoE before exploding. While the Reload isn’t fantastic, Tediore Splitters are among the best vanilla Lasers. Requires a bit of investment in Trick Shot to really shine. The Maliwan Splitters are also great.

  • Elements: :snowflake:    :zap: :fire:
  • Best Parts:
    Maliwan Grip
    Error Code O0L4M0A4, O4L4M0A0, O0L4M4A0, or O4L4M4A4
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop/Glitch Chest

### Laser Disker

Although this Rocket Launcher wannabe has a slow Fire Rate and cannot crit, those 2 things are where Nisha excels. It also has humongous damage potential with reload throws. Most ammo-efficient laser by far.

  • Elements: Only :boom:
  • Best Parts: Tediore Grip
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop

### Maliwan blaster

Very low recoil which makes target acquisition easy even outside of showdown. A decent base damage in combination with a very high Continuous Damage Bonus at 210% makes it hit really hard once Nisha ramps up the fire rate. Add in really good stats everywhere else and ricochet synergy for Trick Shot and The Unforgiven, and you’ve got yourself a hell of a gun.

  • Elements: :zap: :snowflake:    :fire:
  • Best Parts: Maliwan grip
  • Error Code O0L4M0A4, O4L4M0A0, O0L4M4A0, or O4L4M4A4
  • Obtaining: Grinder/world drop

#Sniper Rifles

### Pitchfork

Fires 5 horizontal shots in a line, shaped in a “V” pattern. Consumes 2 Ammo per shot. This weapon performs amazingly against bosses, hitting several bullets on their generally larger Critical Hit Spots with each trigger pull. The Droog is a good replacement and can be even faster in certain cases (if you “pre-roll” a glitch before the fight)

  • Elements: :zap:   :no_entry_sign: :snowflake:  :fire:
  • Best Parts:
    Dahl Grip
Pacifying (Damage) or Night (Critical) Prefix
Punisher (Critical) or Piercing Rounds (Shield Bypass) Luneshine
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop

### Plunkett

Critical Hits consume Ammo from the Ammo Pool instead of the Magazine, a perfect match for Crack shot.

  • Elements: Only :no_entry_sign:
  • Best Parts:
    Jakobs Grip
Tumtum (Critical) or Skookum (Damage) Prefix
  • Obtaining:
    Holodome (Guaranteed in Round 5)

### Snider

Maliwan Sniper Rifles using a Maliwan or Dahl barrel, the former is preferred for its immensely higher Elemental Effect Chance and Damage.

  • Elements: :snowflake: :zap:   :fire:
  • Best Parts:
    Maliwan Barrel
    Maliwan Grip
    Barking (Damage) Prefix
    Error Code O4L4M0A0 or O4L0M0A4
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop/Glitch Chest

### Skullmasher

Fires a group of six Reduced-Damage pellets at the cost of one Ammo. Lower Accuracy. Very powerful and ammo-efficient.

  • Elements: Only :no_entry_sign:
  • Best Parts:
    Jakobs Grip
Skookum (Damage) or Tumtum (Critical) Prefix
Piercing Rounds (Shield Bypass) or Punisher (Critical) Luneshine
  • Obtaining:
Drops from Nel in Regolith Range
    Grinder/World Drop

###Jakobs Snipers

Just like the Skullmasher, Jakobs snipers benefit from Nisha’s synergy with Non-Elemental guns and Showdown’s auto-crit aiming. The Daiub and Muckamuck are the best choices among them.

  • Elements: Only :no_entry_sign:
  • Best Parts:
    Jakobs Grip
    Skookum (Damage) Prefix
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop

#Assault Rifles

###Hail

With its unique parabolic firing pattern, the Hail doesn’t play nice with either Showdown or trick shot. It can’t benefit from Hot lead or Mag6… But this gun’s upsides more than make up for those flaws. Between the 200% crit bonus, the unlisted splitting projectiles, the 2% healing and the 80% splash damage, the Hail needs no help to shine.

  • Elements: :zap: :snowflake:    :fire:
  • Best Parts:
    Vladof Grip
Ferocious (Damage) or Rabid (Damage + Fire Rate) Prefix
  • Obtaining:
Drops from Iwajira in Serenity’s Waste

###Minigun

Dahl AR with the Vladof “spinigun” barrel. With its 3-shot 9-bullets burst, and the stability and accuracy to go with it, the Minigun is one of the best guns in the game to aim down the sight with. Combine that with Showdown’s auto-aim for crit spots and you have a very potent gun. It also gets a LOT out of the red glitch as bursts are not affected by the fire rate penalty that normally goes with it. While not as impressive, the Major Tom is easier to get and suffers a bit less during Showdown as its horizontal shot pattern can still get strafing enemies.

  • Elements: :snowflake:  :zap: :no_entry_sign:   :fire:
  • Best Parts:
    Dahl Grip
Attack (Damage) or Onslaught (Mag Size) Prefix
    Error Code O4L4M0A0 or O4L0M0A4
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop

###Vladof Rifle

With a good balance of high fire rate, high damage, decent accuracy and good all-around stats, the Vladof rifle is very versatile and works great both from the hip and from ADS.

  • Elements: :snowflake:  :zap: :no_entry_sign:   :fire:
  • Best Parts:
    Vladof Grip
Ferocious (Damage) or Swift (Bullet Speed) Prefix
    Error Code O0L4M4A0 or O0L4M0A4
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop

### Gatling Gun

Jakobs AR with the Vladof “spinigun” barrel. Fires 3 bullets at the cost of 3 Ammo per shot. High Damage coupled with a nice Type B Critical bonus make it a well rounded AR for any Jakobs build. Although it is slightly less Ammo efficient than a Hammer Buster II, it more than makes up for it in DPS.

  • Elements: Only :no_entry_sign:
  • Best Parts:
    Jakobs Grip
    Boss (Damage) Prefix
    Error Code O4L4M0A0
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop/Glitch Chest

### Hammer Buster II

Extremely high Damage per Ammo spent when compared to similar Jakobs Assault Rifles like the Gatling Gun. It has lower DPS due to its lower Fire Rate but better Accuracy to compensate, and piercing rounds. (which could crash your PC/console when used against certain bosses in conjunction with Unforgiven. Be warned)

  • Elements: Only :no_entry_sign:
  • Best Parts:
    Jakobs Grip
Boss (Damage) or Horse (Stability) Prefix
Punisher (Critical) or Piercing Rounds (Shield Bypass) Luneshine
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop

##SMGs

### Fridgia

Always Cryo. Very high Elemental Effect Chance. No Recoil, extremely high Burst Fire Count. Fires 2 bullets at the cost of 1 Ammo in a fixed pattern of the Lascaux cave paintings. Great as a freeze tool, for crowd control and setting up Crits. Trick Shot can compensate for the fixed firing pattern.

  • Elements: Only :snowflake:
  • Best Parts:
    Dahl Grip
    Flying (Bullet Speed) Prefix
  • Obtaining:
Mission Reward from “In Perfect Hibernation”

### Torrent

Increased Damage, Magazine Size, Fire Rate, and Burst Count. Extremely low Recoil when hip-fired. No Movement Speed penalty while aiming down the sights. Also has VERY fast Fire Rate when using Burst Fire.

  • Elements: :no_entry_sign: :zap:   :snowflake:  :fire:
  • Best Parts:
    Dahl Grip
Flying (Bullet Speed) or Stopping (Damage) Prefix
Punisher (Critical) or Piercing Rounds (Shield Bypass) Luneshine
  • Obtaining:
Drops from Meg in Hyperion Hub of Heroism
    Grinder/World Drop

### Cheat Code / Fatale

High Accuracy and increased Critical Damage (75% type A). Reduced Ammo consumption while in FFYL. The Fatale is basically a Cryo-locked Cheat Code without the FFYL gimmick, a bigger mag size, and much better Accuracy.

  • Elements:
Cheat Code: :no_entry_sign: :zap:   :snowflake:  :fire:
    Fatale: Only :snowflake:
  • Best Parts:
Scav or Maliwan Grip (or Hyperion for the Fatale)
Bullet Speed or Damage prefix (Promotional/All-In for Cheat Code, Proactive/Rightsizing for Fatale)
Punisher (Critical) or Piercing Rounds (Shield Bypass) Luneshine
  • Obtaining:
Cheat Code: Mission Reward from “System Shutdown”
Fatale: Drops from Drongo Bones in Outlands Canyon

#Rocket Launchers

“Just because @Chuck80 is a baby and thinks he doesn’t need them doesn’t mean that we can just ignore an entire weapon category” - A peeved editor

… (groan) …fine.

###Mongol

Fires 1 initial rocket for the cost of 2 ammo that spits out more rockets the longer it travels through the air (so the larger and further your target, the better). These rockets deal 60% of the main rockets base damage , are always explosive regardless of the main rocket’s element and are heavily affected by gravity. The Mongol potentially has the highest burst DPS in the game, especially if you switch to a weapon with high critical damage while the rockets are in mid flight with Tombstone active. It is also unparalleled at building stacks of Unchained.

  • Elements: :boom: :zap:   :snowflake:  :fire:
  • Best Parts:
    Vladof Grip
    Torgue or Vladof Exhaust
    Tediore or Vladof Sight
Workers (Mag Size), Moscovite’s (Weapon Swap Speed), or Rugged (Damage) Prefix
    Punisher (Critical) Luneshine
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop

### Badaboom

Fires 6 rockets at the cost of 1 ammo and has a very deep magazine. It can come in all elements and has a low blast radius, but to make up for this it has the highest damage per shot out of all of the launchers. It also works very well with Tombstone, because in the short run multiple instances of damage plays nicer with Tombstone as apposed to 1 big instance of the same damage. If you are fine with the fact it uses a very limited expensive ammo, this weapon can be one of her best boss guns in the entire game and easily overcomes the bullet reflection mechanic some of them have. This gun is also very good at building stacks of Unchained.

  • Elements: :boom: :zap:   :snowflake:  :fire:
  • Best Parts:
    Torgue Grip
    Torgue or Maliwan Exhaust
    Maliwan or Tediore Sight
Heap’d (Damage) or Kwik-Change (Weapon Swap Speed) Prefix
    Punisher (Critical) Luneshine
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop

### Nukem

Fires a big parabolic rocket that has a large explosive AOE for 2 ammo. It synergizes well with her skills Crack Shot and Fistful of Bullets. Highest single-rocket damage in the game.

  • Elements: Only :boom:
  • Best Parts:
    Torgue Grip
    Torgue Exhaust
    Tediore Sight
derp (Damage) or Fwap A (Weapon Swap Speed) Prefix
    Punisher (Critical) Luneshine
  • Obtaining:
Drops from Flame Knuckle in The Holodome
    Grinder/World Drop

### Kaneda’s Laser

Fires an ultra-precise explosive railgun-like blast that can naturally crit and has 100% splash damage. It also works with skills like Trick Shot and The Unforgiven, unlike most other launchers. Since it’s big selling point is that it can naturally crit it is best used like a sniper (ADS) where it becomes a mob destroyer. It is one of her few play styles the takes a higher skill level, but it comes with a big reward when you pull it off. It is also an excellent FFYL tool, second only to the Nukem.

  • Elements: Only :boom:
  • Best Parts:
    Tediore Grip
    Torgue Exhaust
Damage or Weapon Swap Speed Attachment
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop

#Grenade Mods

Note: Assume the preferred Fuse Time for all Grenades to be 0.0s, and the preferred Delivery method to be Longbow.

### Transfusion

The Transfusion Grenades are manufactured by Maliwan, and return Health to you after they Damage an enemy. Both the initial explosion and the child Grenades deal Damage and can proc Elemental Effects. Especially useful in Cryo.

  • Elements: :snowflake:  :zap:    :fire:   :boom:
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop

### Cryo

A Vladof Cloud grenade that deals constant Cryo Damage to any enemy in its Area of Effect. This is a great way to freeze multiple enemies at once, setting them up for Explosive Damage and/or Crits! If you don’t want to use a Cryo weapon, grab one of these instead.

  • Elements: Only :snowflake:
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop

### Bonus Package

Always Explosive. After the Grenade’s initial explosion, it releases several child Grenades, that release even more child Grenades. Utter chaos with Tombstone.

  • Elements: Only :boom:
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop

###Quasar

Legendary Hyperion grenade, creates a singularity effect coupled with a Tesla effect. Very good for stripping shields and for crowd control.

  • Elements: Only :zap:
  • Obtaining:
Drops from Felicity in The Holodome and Titan Robot Production Plant
    Grinder/World Drop

###Storm Front

With overlapping damage zones, a neutral element and the help of Tombstone, this thing can really hurt.

  • Elements: Only :zap:
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop

#Shields

### Haymaker / Adaptive Shield

Adaptive Shields provide bonus Health and Elemental Damage Resistance, and are great for all purposes. The Haymaker is an interesting Adaptive Shield manufactured by Dahl, as it comes with the ability to punch your DoTs away. More importantly: it comes with the highest Health boost out of all Adaptive Shields, which helps a lot with boss fights.

  • Best Parts:
    All Anshin parts
  • Obtaining:
Haymaker: Mission Reward from “DAHL Combat Training: Round 5”
    Adaptive: World Drop/Grinder

### Shield of Ages / Turtle Shield / Fabled Tortoise

Turtle Shields (and their variants) lower your Health in exchange for massive Shield Capacity. This means, among other things, that it lowers the threshold required to gain stacks of Order. It also has great synergy with Bottled Courage, Law (as the bonus is % based) and Discipline. Much less interesting against bosses as you would have enough time to accumulate Order stacks anyway, and it leaves you with much less Health to take advantage of those stacks. Mostly mobbing Shields.
The Shield of Ages has the largest Capacity of all Turtle Shields (~200k at Level 70) at a comparably small Health penalty (~20k at Level 70). The catch is that it has fixed Parts, and those parts give it fairly poor Recharge stats. However, Discipline and Bottled Courage can compensate for this downside.
The Fabled Tortoise is a middle ground between Purple Turtle Shields and the Shield of Ages. It slows you down when it’s up, and speeds you up when it’s down.

  • Best Parts:
    Shield of Ages: Fixed Parts
    Turtle/Tortoise: Pangolin or Anshin Parts
  • Obtaining:
Shield of Ages: Mission Reward from “The Temple of Boom”, when turned in to Gladstone
    Turtle/Tortoise: World Drop/Grinder

### Naught

An interesting Shield with ZERO Recharge Delay, which means that it is constantly recharging, even through DoTs. Since DoTs are the only common thing that don’t trigger Order, they’re one of the most dangerous thing out there for Nisha. That Shield takes care of them completely. You can be standing on lava for hours.

  • Best Parts:
    All Scav parts
  • Obtaining:
Tales from the Borderlands Season Pass

### Pristmatic Bulwark

This Shield absorbs Laser Ammo and boosts Laser Damage and Resistance. A lot of enemies on Elpis use Lasers, so the defensive capabilities of the Bulwark are actually pretty useful. This Shield coupled with an 3DD1.e is the go-to combination for any Laser-based build.

  • Best Parts:
    Maliwan Body
    Maliwan Battery
    Hyperion Capacitor
  • Obtaining:
Drops from Zarpedon and the Sentinel
    World drop/Grinder

### Asteroid Belt

This Shield comes with a chance to launch an Explosive homing projectile upon taking Damage. Another good addition to an all out Cryo + Tombstone build.

  • Best Parts:
    All Maliwan
  • Obtaining:
Mission Reward from “Guardian Hunter”, when turned in to Sterwin

### Black Hole

Returning Shield from BL2. When depleted, it pulls in enemies before releasing a Shock Nova. Works best for a Melee Hybrid build, but the pull and Nova can be used to good effect when coupled with Discipline and Bottled Courage.

  • Best Parts:
    Maliwan Body
    Maliwan Battery
    Maliwan Capacitor (Shock Immunity)
  • Obtaining:
    Sentinel
    Grinder/World Drop

#Class Mods

### Chronicler of Elpis

+49% Freeze Chance / +49% Cryo Damage / +14895 Shield Capacity
+4 No Pain No Gain / Faster ’n You / High Noon / Trick Shot / Tombstone

Probably Nisha’s best COM. A premium choice for a Cryo-based build. Great all-around. Crapshooter will give more DPS to Jakobs builds, while this gives more DPS and survivability to Cryo/Explosive setups.

  • Obtaining:
    Holodome (Guaranteed in Round 3)
    Grinder

### Celestial Lawbringer

+49% Cooldown rate
+5 Law / Wanted / Ruthless / Bottle Courage / Bona Fide Grit / Quickshot

Gritty (+5 BFG, +4 Law, +4 Unchained) Prefix
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop

### Six-Shooter

+49% Jakobs Damage
Magnificent Six / Quickshot / Crackshot

The go-to COM for a Jakobs Shotgun build that can stack Crack Shot and Magnificent Six. (pretty good with other low-Mag Jakobs guns too)

  • Best Parts:
    Swift (+5 QS, +4 CS, +4 M6) Prefix
Note: If you don’t hipfire much, use a Loaded Sixshooter (+6 MS, +5 CS) instead.
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop

### Crapshooter

+49% Critical Damage
Unchained / Trickshot / Tombstone

One of the best choices for pure DPS, especially with builds focused on Jakobs guns. Offers almost zero utility, turning you into a glass cannon. Premier choice for speed runs.

  • Best Parts:
High Rolling (+6 Tombstone, +5 TS) Prefix
  • Obtaining:
    Grinder/World Drop

#Oz Kits

### 3DD1.E

In addition to its Laser Damage and Shield Capacity boosts, in combat, there is a random chance for Shields and Health to rapidly regenerate. When damaged, there is a random chance to release Shock bolts that damage nearby enemies. When killing an enemy, there is a random chance to release a care package, which provides Health, Ammunition and/or Money drops. This is a great all-around Oz Kit based solely on the utility it provides, but is mandatory for Laser builds.

  • Elements: Only :boom:
  • Obtaining:
Drops from CL4P-L3K in Veins of Helios. If left alone during the mission “Eradicate!”, you can come back later to farm it.
    Grinder/World Drop

### Systems Purge

This Oz Kit uses some of your Oxygen in order to deal a NE Nova on hit that can shatter air masks. Also replenishes Oxygen on kill. All in all, it’s a fairly consistent boost to DPS, especially in Atmosphere.

  • Obtaining:
Mission Reward from “Eradicate!”, when you destroy CL4P-L3K

### Precision Strike

Increases Accuracy and Critical Damage while Airborne. Especially useful when using guns with low Accuracy (like Shotguns with double or bigger barrels, Splitters and so forth) as it’s when the boost in Accuracy is the most noticeable. The Crit Damage bonus is also a big help in increasing DPS.

### Tranquility

No friends? Don’t worry, because the Tranquility Oz Kit is just as good, providing a Damage Boost that is only marginally smaller than a 4-Man Support Relay, without forcing you to have a 4-Man Co-Op with the same Oz Kit. The Damage boost is almost always at its maximum in Atmosphere, and can be easily kept high in Vacuum.

###Bomber

Considering that Tombstone can make grenades crit, and that a lot could be said about the cryo/explosive/crit synergy, having more grenades at your disposal is a pretty good deal.

Now we are only missing the claptrap top gear and skills guide in here

Reply of a sort to the guy who suggested the Longnail back on the old forum.

I got a nice Bolshy Cryo longnail with Vladof grip and tried to maximize it’s potential skill and gear-wise.

…It’s crap… no way around it.
The damage is VERY low and it wastes ammo even more than FTH builds. Damage is on par with Tediore pistols… I guess they had to nerf it’s damage to balance it’s shield bypassing gimmick… but it’s way too much of a nerf. (A skullmasher does a bit more than 5x the damage… who cares about shield bypass at that point ?)

Maybe, MAYBE with a Gromky prefix, a Jakobs grip and Fire element it would have potential. (Fire element is a given for the Longnail. As I found out, Cryo is just a waste)

So, conclusion: Longnail has no place in the Top gear (for Nisha at least), but if you want to use one, it’s best element is Fire…accept no substitute.

I’ve kinda found the same with it, base damage is too low and many enemies don’t even have shields.

Longnail is locked as well. For accessories, it haves +Mag and +Stability, so getting a Gromky is impossible :(. And this:

Ah! I thought it only had the mag size in the slot reserved for the luneshine. Didn’t know it had fixed accessory as well. Good to know.

Fire elemental and Grip is the only 2 things to look for then.

No grip as well, all Vladof locked .

And the award for (arguably) one of the worst snipers in the series goes to…

Hi Chuck good going with the porting, I would personaly recommend using a format like this.
It looks snazzy.

I have not personally tried it out, as I have not done the Holodone yet, but the Plunkett has potential to be in the top gear depending on how it works with Crack Shot. If you score a critical hit with the Plunkett, ammo is taken from your ammo pool rather than your magazine. This could mean that Crack Shot could proc on every shot so long as you do not miss a crit. A Six Shooter COM that gives boosts to Crack Shot could make it a devastating weapon with this bonus. Now from what I hear, the Plunkett has lower damage compared to other Jakobs snipers, so Crack Shot and the buff to Jakobs weaponry may make up for it. This could also work well with Impatience to reduce the reload speed dramatically, which I also have heard that the Plunkett has a rather long reload. Again, this requires testing and I’m not even sure if my information regarding the lower damage and higher reload is accurate, but it looks like this could have a lot of synergy with a Riflewoman/L&O build.

Nice list. But you might want to point out whether the weapons can be obtained through the grinder/vendor/slot machine as well. Again: nice list!

A few are mentioned, when they have a designated drop source.
those that don,t are always available from the grinder.

I will have to take a look at it, I have not bought the DLC yet… probably this weekend

I tested it in TVHM and its ok but I don’t think it belongs in the topgear list.
It’s basicly a jakobs sniper rifle with a longer reload time, less damage and a cool feature.
The feature is very effective in showdown when you ads because almost all hits will be crits and you don’t have to waste your time reloading. I would still use a purple one or the skullsmasher outside of Showdown because I am not that good at aiming to get crits all the time and when you have to reload it takes very long.
Impatience helps to reduce the reload time but you have to build up stacks first.

I didn’t use crackshot but I don’t think it will work that well. If you miss the first shot but you get a lot of crits after that first shot it takes longer to get the bonus of crackshot again if you don’t want to reload manually.

PS: I had a Plunkett with the crit prefix and I tested it in the Hyperion Hub of Heroism. Most enemys were dead with one critical hit

Seems like a gun that rewards you for using it right…by also making failure worse at the same time.
It’s at least an interesting choice.

Honestly, I haven’t found many snipers in this game that are very good on Nisha. The Skullmasher is there because of it’s ludicrous damage, and I had my best results so far with Maliwan Sniders… but Snipers as a whole are underwhelming in TPS. Next one I will need to try is the Pitchfork: 5 bullets for 2 ammo is awesome when you have trick shot.

Welp, looks like the Plunkett does indeed appear to get a consistant Crack Shot, and due to the magazine being six or under, also gets the damage from Magnificent Six. I suggest it as an Honerable Mention due to the synergy with a Pipin’ Hot Six Shooter (+6 Crack Shot and +5 Magnificent Six). I would only put it as honorable because the efficiency of it relies on the player. If you do not manually reload after missing the first shot, you would not be getting the optimal damage from the sniper. One could crapshoot to empty it to deal damage and maybe kill an enemy, but aside of that one should just reload. It also depends on how many stacks of Impatience you have before you mess the first shot up. It certainly has potential with a Six Shooter, but due to the learning curve and playstyle it should not be top gear, only an honorable mention. Then again, finding a top gear sniper is tough for Nisha, so out of desperation it may get there regardless.

This.

I will have to play with it a bit, but I think the Plunket has everything to be Top gear.

As for finding other Top gear snipers, Dahl’s are much better on Nisha than they were on any character before. I want to try out a pitchfork, but I might simply add Dahl snipers as a whole too.

Does its special effect trigger with Tombstone crits?
