Baynaneted Burny Krigg

Heyooo folks,

So I’ve been roaming on OP4 with my main buddy Mr. K for quite a long time now, and this brought me to the desire of running a Bandit Allegiance Krieg.

I don’t think my skillset
( http://bl2skills.com/psycho.html#50500011000050550000155144500153051)
should change much from what i usually use but I’m more interested in feedback about the Bandit Loadout.

What I already got:

  • I have a lvl69 Slagga with Bulets Go Fasterified prefix, i believe level is not really relevant on this, so it’s not my main focus to farm as I believe it’ll be a hassle to find anything more useful for painting dudes in purple.
  • I also have an OP4 Rapider Corrosive Gub, which is great for anything armored and its prefix again counters our Bandit flaws.
  • Next is my OP4 Taktikal Sawbar which is a bit tricky to use but both fun and efficient with the Hellborn investment.
  • I have an OP4 Love Thumper: I know of its bad synergy with StV but I can’t think of anything other than Hide if Terra. Which also suffers from the same drawbacks… Plus I tried farming Mr. Terra last night with my Maya partner and we got trampled lmao so there’s that. I will miss my Rough Rider tho…
  • As for COMs I think I’ll stick to my Leg Sickle or Torch which have proved rather efficient so far.
  • I’ve only come across a white Bandit Allegiance Relic for now so i guess it will be my last cherry on the Bandit cake.

What I should look for:

This is what i need input on
I need a shotgun, but I’m not sure which one to use : Sledge’s, a Dog, a Jolly Roger? I do know how to farm them but the drops weren’t good so far. Anything else, even non-uniques?

Also I guess I’d need to farm for a good old Baddaboom. I got King Mong’s skin for my man but not the launcher yet sadly

Finally, which Gurnade? The unique ones are only the Contraband Sky Rocket (I need to start a new character is it?) or… The damn Fuster Cluck lol. Both definitely feel very “Bandity” but I wonder if you fellow VH might have other - and better - ideas. Again, even non-unique could be cool.

To conclude, I wanna add that I’ve always played K in a rather… Well chaotic manner, rarely hitting crits much, meleeing a LOT and swinging out grenades like pepper on burnt ribs.
This build is meant to play for fun, a different feel and chilliness. That said I use BiASSters on the Peak so who knows? It might pass the test of hard-hitting engame too!

I’d love to know it there are any Allegiance Krieg players out there, Bandit experts or anyone interested in helping me out!

See ya you pankysteaks

Teeth of Terra :metal:

Both of those (Contraband Sky Rocket and Fuster Cluck) are quite good. Bandit, conveniently, makes knock off MRUV and Bouncing Betty grenades, but I love those original two.

I play allegiance only, but don’t really play Krieg. I’ve played extensive Bandit allegiance with both Zer0 and Gaige. I’m still not that familiar with Krieg’s nuances (been a while since I played him), but there are definitely specimens in their catalog that work well.

He does well in FFYL, no? Even when I played him, I didn’t go that route. Get a Prazma Canon, aim it at the sky in an outdoor map, and let the fire fall. It’s suicide for a normal character…

I also have an OP4 Krieg who uses a roid shield. It’s definitely out of the possibility of allegiance as he’s using a Storm Front to strip, but if you were so inclined you can get a Punchee from the Torgue Seraph vendor. It’s similar in damage output to the LT assuming parts are identical.

Do you have any issues when SvT procs? I had to go with a lower level shield because I kept one-shotting myself. That said, I learned recently to avoid Fuel the Blood for that very reason. And surprised no EE?

Otherwise his build is very different (Bloodlust/Mania) and uses L Reaper and L Sickle, Rapier and assorted Krieg-y guns. The play style is likely the same (shoot/stab) but just concentrates on Blood Bath rather than PiP/EE (neither of which you’ve spec’d…).

As far as shotguns, the RokSalt is fabulous Bandit shotgun. Hopefully you’ve got a character who has got the mission open. Jolly Roger too, but I think you may get more consistent damage output with the RS with its (effectively) larger mag and great reload.

How about a Bone Shredder? Or Tattler?

The Contraband Sky Rocket’s damage caps at 72, so might not be the best option. I’d go with a regular Bettie to maintain ignition.

Edit : I think that with the huge damage of the roid shield, I would go with the Leg Torch. Or even a purple Toast?
Definitely try a Toast! Some variation of this level 68 build? Might be awesome.

I really don’t like/know DANDIT shotguns.
But, I recommend Lawful Evil Barbarian COM. It boosts Weapon Accuracy + Crtical Damage, and gives Fire Fiend, Salt The Wounds, Blood Trance boost. It’s focused on shotgun, but not that bad for melee.
I think using Barbarian COM with BANDIT is better than JAKOBS, because those have elemental.

I think they will turn into guns with the fire rate of JASKOBS and the accuracy of Hyperion.

As far as grenades I’d suggest a Bandit slag Bouncing Betty variant if you can find one. And L. Torch would be my choice with Hellborn in the mix…

By the way, I just tried the above build with the Toast at OP8 and it didn’t work very well. Might be ok at OP4 though, but I think Leg Torch is the likely the better choice.

First of all, thanks for all of your inputs!

Hmm @Adabiviak then I guess I can afford to die seriously a dozen more times haha
I’ll try to see if I can get the Fuster Cluck or a Betty as everyone said!

Now that you say it I DO have one of those in my backpack! A fire version I think… and here I thought all Etech bandit guns were bad

I use a SF for now as well… it’s indeed super effective :joy: but I’ll try to snatch a Bandit MIRV or something.
I thought the Punchee wasn’t so impressive though? Regarding StV I could really ditch the single point in Fuel the Blood ( which I use for a L. Sickle switch) and place it in say PiP or EE?
I also happen to down myself with the RR on so I think the LT might be alright. Will try it tonight!
Also I got a Blue Toast so I’ll toy a bit between the two

Thanks I’ll check it out too I think I got a Barbarian COM stashed somewhere!

I have found that other skills worked better and seemed more necessary but I might use the point from FtB and put it there with the L. Torch on

Wonder I I have that mission still available though…What about a Dog from Rouf ?

Thanks again! :sunny:

The Splasher Blashter is one of my all time favourites.

Apparently pre-patch it was bad, but it’s now on par with the Order and LT. I use it on a lot of characters.

I’ve never really found one that impressed me. Average, decent, but not in the same league as the JR and RS. At least it’s not tied to a quest though.

They can be… they seem to ‘fade’ faster than other guns as you go from Normal mode up to the OP levels, so depending on where you play, they can be pretty rough (their reputation isn’t entirely unwarranted, but there is some exaggeration there too):

  • Spikers and Darts, without help, are scarcely lethal. Slag Darts can be used for applying “remote” slag for long-distance Zer0. Darts can also handle a fair amount of Anarchy’s accuracy distortion while still being able to stay on target (and not eat the 50% damage penalty of Close Enough to land a hit).
  • Like @Jefe said, the Bandit E-Tech shotguns are pretty good. There’s a zone between their maximum range and close enough to damage you that you need to maintain though, but one of my favorite things to do as Gaige is jump down onto unsuspecting enemies just behind a barrage of these shotgun blobs.
  • Bandit E-Tech SMGs proc splash randomly along their drunken flight path. There’s a sweet spot at, what, maybe 10’ out to “mid” range where enemies caught in that spray will take a lot of damage. If you’re used to using ‘regular’ Plasma Casters, these will definitely seem soft, but they’re quite capable of killing.
  • Prazma Canons, for me, work best with the parts/accessories that slow the projectile the most. This way, when you fire it, the main projectile and spawns all hit just about the same spot. I use a corrosive one for PWR and BUL Loaders, and it stops them in their tracks.

Aw man what a bad critic I am! I remember a Splashter Blashter that lasted me 10 levels in UVHM a while back! Only using TG makes you forget all about the cool stuff…
@Adabiviak yeah I gotta learn the sweet spot for the Prazma Canons too… I always feel like carpeting too well but single damage not so much

I’m usually loathe to describe weapons as only having one ideal part set, but the Prazma Canon is an exception here. Its damage potential comes in the form of the sub orbs that come off the main one.

If you get one with normal speed (or high speed with a bunch of Maliwan parts), it’ll shoot like a Topneaa, but without the same punch, and just a couple of random sub orbs, nowhere near the main target.

All Torgue parts (I believe) gets the range way down and the flight slowest, so more of those orbs appear in flight, such that at mid range (not too close or you won’t have any extra orbs: not too far or the main orb will be out by itself), the main orb will hit flanked by maybe five of these side orbs close enough to all damage the primary target, and now it’s packing a good punch.

This is an old video, but it demonstrates this range. Are you playing at OP8? If so, I’d still only use this if you like the weapon mechanics over its ability to kill.

Hmm I see guess I’ll have to hit Mr. Snowflake again
I gotta check mine because using it yesterday I felt that its reach and orbs were actually pretty close to this Torgue version you spoke of! Also I play on OP4

Or rather… WAS ! HAHAH ! (Insert Clappy’s maniacal laughter).
Yesterday with ma partner Siren we tried the Peak, and after a few bad starts we completed it in one seriously clean af run  Thanks a lot for your advices especially about Elemental Empathy… Which turned all my guns into Mashine-Gune like monsters lmao.
OP5 here we come!

EDIT : Woot woot! How’s dat? :fire:

Pretty! And matching grip ftw! That mag size should get monstrous.
You know, I can’t think of the last time I found an elemental one.

I’d like to know what the new build is. And what COM have you settled on?

By the way, the Gub with full stacks? :scream:

Yes!!! Like a corrosive Super Soaker. So much melting. Giving bots a pathway to sentience through fear since always. (If you ever break allegiance the Infection gets nasty with full stacks too. Great for Elemental Empathy heals.)

Cool!
So i wanted to farm again to get a corrosive one but only got explosive/non elemental ones… At op3 ugh. Plus a bunch of not so great guns after about 30 tries lol.

Indeed the Gub is awesome! My buid is now as follows:

Melts faces like nuthin does haha and I’m using the Leg. Torch as usual
