This is my first post here. I am new to BL2. I bought it when it first came out, played it to the end of Normal Mode with Axton, and then stopped playing because back then I was on a competitive FPS team and focused entirely on that at the cost of other games.
Good lord, this game is great!
To my question - I just finished replaying through with Axton. I don’t use much in the way of guides for games, but figured with so much info out there on BL2, it would be silly not to read some basic info to get me started. There was an awesome post about Axton called Beginners Guide to Axton and it was exactly what I needed. I figured I’ll beat the game with each character using a “beginners guide” of sorts for each one, and then start reading about builds as I progress into TVHM for each of them. So, since I’m on to Zer0 now… is there something similar for Zer0? I was actually surprised it wasn’t in the Community Zer0 Guide (or else I’m blind and missed it). If there isn’t one, can someone with a lot of Zer0 knowledge throw out a basic build that goes to level 34 or so?
It’s amazing how many games I missed that were great. I’m so glad I went back and started this one again. I can’t imagine another game being more fun than this is. I love it!
Where you go from there depends on what you want to focus on.
Only guns? Start on the Sniping tree.
Hybrid stab and shoot? Start on the Bloodshed tree.
You’re the best! Thanks! Sitting down now to start Zer0. I’ve got two hours before work. This is the first game in a while that has tempted me to call in sick to work. I’m an adult. I shouldn’t be thinking about calling in sick to work for a game.
Welcome to the forums. Your one stop shop for info and commiseration of the Pandoran variety.
I’m going to second the Cunning build @Jefe suggested, because it’s the build I started with except that I skipped Counter Strike and put 4 points in Unforeseen. And many better versed than myself maintain that a solid Cunning tree lies beneath every Zer0 build. No matter how you kill it, stab or shoot, you’re going to enjoy making it dead.
I didn’t play this game all that much from launch until 2015, at that point most new games didn’t interest me, so I ended up sticking with this the whole time. Glad you’re enjoying it, I actually think BL2 is one of the best games of the past ten years.
