Just remembered, for once, that after the Blimp comes the cheater himself. Kinda…
I know I can get through with a Kerblaster but. Being with a Siren that try to use DAHL weaponry. (Grenades and COM are “left out” for now.)
Worst case scenario I sacrifice the DAHL Burst delay for an explosive relic.
Not from DAHL but as I couldn’t find much info about “da ?$$/?&& shield”. I was wondering. Could a Trespasser be of any use. I have this lower level one.
I don’t think the Tresspasser will be of too much help because BA-Rex doesn’t have a traditional shield, he has bullet reflecting panels on most of his body. I’ve only tortured myself with this once, with Sal, and I unapologetically Unkempt Nozzled him from behind the barrier. Still took a knee and even respawned once or twice due to stupid bullet reflection. I think your grenadier should work for you if you stay at the barrier and take potshots at the wheels, which I believe don’t have that bullet reflecty dickiness going on. Let us know how that works out for you.
Are you running Dahl allegiance for this character? That’s probably gonna suck for this fight, although the splash from your grenadier won’t reflect so you can aim at the tires after knocking out the barrels in turn.
The same is true of grenade splash in general which should leave you with at least some viable options, but the answer with this meltdown of boss design is frequently: do you have a Grog or Hail? If Grog, you’re golden, Cloud Kill will keep you alive, especially if coupled with BackDraft. Then just use whatever.
Hail likewise but both of them obviously break the allegiance theme.
It occurs to me I’ve never tried inventory swaps to defeat the reflection. If you avoid Accelerate that could work…maybe?
Someone else try it first.

Never intended to do anything else than cheesing him behind the wall as I’m still leveling up. Not going to farm for it. Nice vid thou @jefe , will be useful later on. Corrosive Hail is noted.
The Trespasser didn’t pass the Frostburn test. Without Slag it could barely take a chip on standard mobs. With Slag I didn’t needed several shots to see a little movement on their health bar… @VaultHunter101 striked the final nail in the coffin. Definitely a one purpose gun.
Got a little sidetracked and just defeated the Blimp. We’ll see what the Grenadier can do.
On a side note I’m not running a “true” DAHL allegiance. Only for guns and the burst delay Relic. So yeah. Grog and Hail would be out even if I had planned to farm.
But I am going against a now revealed cheater! So rules can be bent.
Grenadier worked… Kinda! Got down to 10% ammo with 1/4 of the health gone… I knew it was a potential issue and my AR ammo pool is far from being maxed.
Surprisingly my old Dahlminator, lvl, 62, which wasn’t of much help against Torgue’s loaders was somewhat efficient. Pistols ammo too are not maxed out and soon became an issue. In the meantime I almost killed myself with a reflected Slag Sloth burst. Slow projectiles yes but I have Accelerate at 10/5 ! @cioran
Found out that with a SR I could back just enough to make the firing window a tiny slit and still take shots. Pot shots using Slag and Corrosive Sloths. Almost killed myself once again but it worked. Ammo count went low again but I had room and still some AR & Pistol ammo.
… And Piston got me. Had it down to a sliver of health in FFYL when my Lascaux when I needed to reload. Maybe if I had switched to the Emperor… Maybe.
All in all iit was nice. Saved a bunch of ammo shooting at the barrels. Thanks to a friendly reminder I got here.
