Resspecing Krieg

So. Stuck at the stupid Handsome Dragon I decided it was time to put points in Hellborn. something slightly overdue. Currently at lvl 69.

This, is what I come from: http://bl2skills.com/psycho.html#05505411543150350505050100000000000
Using a Tasty Crunch COM. (lvl 60)
+44% Explosive dmg
+6 Taste of Blood
+5 Blood Trance

And this is what I’m aiming at:
Explosive/grenade from @piemanlee

I relied a lot on Release the Beast. I figure the points in Hellborn should mitigate the loss but I’m not sure.
Could I save some points in Bloodlust to put in Mania and still make it viable?
-edit- Not enough points to be saved there yet! Oops

I know I could help you but i’ve not played this game in months haha. I’d need to refresh my memory before being too helpful. Although one thing that sticks out immediately is you don’t need 5 points in Thrill of the Kill, 1 point is enough.

Before I decided to try the OP levels my Krieg build looked like this:
http://bl2skills.com/psycho.html#51502515244150550005155100000000000
Primary weapons are shotguns and the Hail with the Deputy’s Badge as primary relic (element match as needed). L. Reaper/Sickle for the com, RR for the shield and grenade of choice would be a MM, Chain Lightning, Fastball, Storm Front or Bonus Package. Slagga for slagging and GN for quick heals outside of RtB.

For the Peak I’ve gone to this:
http://bl2skills.com/psycho.html#41500310000040550105150123504114051
The primary weapons are elemental Infinitys. The default relic is a Sheriff’s Badge- I’ll swap to a specific relic to element match when needed. L. Torch for the com, RR for the shield and Fastballs, Storm Fronts and Chain Lightnings are the primary grenades with a GN for quick (i.e. boss fight) healing. So far the second build has gotten me to OP7 so it does indeed work…

Edit: here’s a screen shot of my Peak build- as you can see, I need to make a quick change:

Did a little Treant & chest run to test the new build… Yeahhh… Missing Release the Beast a lot.
Oh and Bee shield with Hellborn tree? Nope!

I hate playing Krieg without RtB but it doesn’t work on bosses solo really… So yeah, dunno if you can proc Bloodbath off sorcerer minions, you can off his dragons. Bee does work with Hellborn, you just need a non elemental gun. I use a Bekah at OP8, but maybe pick up a non elemental Sandhawk or Jakob’s shotgun. A non elemental CC would be great too, but you probably don’t have one at that level lying around.

Off the top of my head I’d say drop Blood Trance. If RtB is your “OH S***!!!” button then a longer rampage is not really your friend. If you can find a Flesh Crunch com that boosts Taste of Blood as the second skill that would be my preference every time. Better survivability in rampage, please and thank you. That would smooth out a lot of bumps for you, imo. 1 point is plenty for thrill of the kill, a Fastball will heal you to full with every grenade.

DOH!
Unfortunately I just made it back to the arena/bridge. On the good side it went really well without RtB. Too late to look for non-elemental gear thou. (Without using alternate account mules). Only non-elemental I have is an Emperor. Not sure why I brang it but I might give it a shot.

Yup. I just figured that out earlier. I do have a Flesh Crunch and it’s better than the Tasty. Time to get my head out of my … well… You know!

Another thought. This post has a pic of my level 72 build. It works with a Crunch com, and you can peel the excess points out of Hellborn to reach your current level. That carried me through unlocking OP2 and is essentially what I took him through TTAODK with.

Good advices. Better or more adapted build. Had it down to almost half health without any issues when my fingers decided to go in BuzzAxe Rampage instead of throwing a Lightning bolt for Moxxi healing!
The Dragon will fall. Not sure when but it will fall!

The great thing about using the Infinity with my second build is that I can still use all of the ‘good’ weapons with it like shotguns and explosive guns and still have a weapon to use effectively even if I get down to a single pistol round. One of the reason I specced out of PiP was because I got pretty good at landing crits with the Infinity. Slag critters can be a pain but for them I switch to my Flesh Crunch com (+6 StF) and hit them with the GN+Explosive Fastball combo…

Missed the screenshot but it went down.

Shock Lyuda and Bone did well on the first run. Could had use the Blood too but for the second round. Armed with your insights and @Adabiviak reminder that I didn’t had to stay out in the open. I decided to go with the Bee’s Emperor.
Dragon check.

At least I was rewarded for my effort!

-edit-
Couple other tweeks included: Switching Kerblaster to Spitter to shoot under the gate and matching grip Akurate Slagga for a Bullets Go Fasterifed.

Alright! I thought you meant Handsome Sorceror, not dragon in which case the Sandhawk doesn’t work with its slow projectile speed. Score one for the Emperor! I always do that fight using the half open door cheesily for cover and getting health back off the small dragons. Nice one! Krieg and flying bosses are not the most fun combo.

Always wanted to “like” that gun but. As lvl 67 gun it have a little window of opportunity. Not a niche weapon. If you’re looking for something specific there’s always a better choice. It’s a solid all around gun and I’m glad that. In my humble living room. I could gave it it’s moment!

Yeah, as you said there’s always better options when you have your normal array… That’s awesome it actually was the best choice this time…you know…for him…

StormS’plosion made it to what will probably be the pinnacle of his career for quite a while.

Thank’s again ya’ll for your inputs.
Made it to mid 71 with the Dragon Build . I liked the more gun oriented aspect rather than mostly pressing the beserk button and hacking my way through. Problem was it felt more like playing a poorly designed, very generic arcade machine. Survivability in bad situations also became more an issue. Without any melee bonus or RtB.s The action skill is pretty much useless.

So I switched to some kind of hybrid. Went back to the Lair of I. Agony and I liked it.
 The build ! The place is a pain but Krieg is the best designed to mitigate the dlc “less desirable designs”. Weight matter! The abuse of Kerblaster and SwordSplosion for mid to long range. DPUH and Fastball close to mid. I even surprised myself with strikes from the outfield!.:grinning:Yup!
…But I can’t endure the yelling.:flushed:

What’s the reason you don’t take blood filled guns?

Good question. I hesitated but don’t feel like reloading is an issue. Maybe because I have my BAR on. (+19.9%). It’s a choice between the “Blood’s” skills.
