I have an old Krieg game save that I just imported from the 360 to Xbox One, and it’s been years since I used it. Left off at level 58, and it looks like I must have been using a melee build. But I just tooled around in UVHM and wasn’t really feeling the melee. I’ve heard people use him effectively with non-melee, but his whole special skill seems designed for this. If you run him without the middle tree, does his action skill even get used at all?
Any particular skills that are good to have in a non-melee build?
My first Krieg was strictly guns - I didn’t even use his action skill.
If you specifically concentrate on Blood Bath ( and Bloodsplosion of course ) you are completely covered. You can go into Hellborn if you wish, but you can actually just spec Bloodlust and Mania like this and that’ll do the trick.
Good COMs are Blister, Crunch and Legendary Reaper.
@BasherSBC Thanks for the thread. I’m currently on a little hiatus because… Just started TPS, bought the Necro pack on Diablo III, I’m moving and going back to school (at 40+) on monday… But BL2 is still DA GAME for me.
Krieg (Mr. Die-A-Lot) is my current character and I’m definitely not a melee fan. Add all the yelling and the %$?%* language… Not my favorite character. But I did went for Release the beast and melee because… Krieg.
I’m specking in Bloodlust and it does make a difference.
Feeling like I’ll find some good tips on here. Already did!
I think the reason punchy Krieg didn’t do it for me in UVHM was it just got to be too much for me to manage keeping track of who was slagged, then managing RtB. A lot of times my health would drop so fast I’d miss the timing on getting the Action Skill triggered before dropping to zero. I think I’d rather just slag stuff with guns and then set the world on fire.
By the way, no one really acknowledged Hellborn, but it can be pretty wicked.
My favourite COM used to be a purple (Power) Toast, but I like the Legendary Torch a bit better these days. The Legedary Reaper works well with it too - shifts the focus to Blood Bath a lot more.
Hellborn points can be moved around depending on COM choice but here’s a build to go with the Leg Torch :
FULL DISCLOSURE : I’m not as familiar with the mechanics of Hellborn skills as others, so some of those choices may be a bit misguided ; but it works for me.
The Omen / Blockhead is my primary gun ; consult Top Gear for other good options.
Also, needs a Rough Rider or FotF to work.
