is it any good? also i was wondering if the bone shredder was any good or the roksalt, please rate from a one to a five

  • Scorpio:
    • A solid elemental AR very useful while levelling through the game, particularly given when you can obtain it story-wise. 4
  • Gwen’s Head:
    • Always at your level so again, very useful while levelling (especially the elemental versions). 4
  • Lascaux:
    • Brutal close-quarters SMG but a bad choice if you like to keep your distance. Very easy farm. I think it might me level-locked in NVHM/TVHM, but should scale in UVHM so again useful for levelling. 4
  • Bias:
    • I don’t do end game farming and prefer playing through the story. 6.

Also moving this to a more appropriate category - hold on to your hats!

I have to :+1: the ratings that @Adabiviak and @VaultHunter101 gave above. 4’s because there are weapons I prefer, but I’ve had success with all of them. I like the bone shredder in slag because Tector doesn’t drop a Slagga often enough for me, the roksalt and Scorpio in corrosive for bots of all flavors, and the Gwen’s Head and Orc in every flavor but NE. The Lascaux puts in work for my Gaige (close enough+anarchy makes it a monster, IMO), Maya (chain reaction loves it), and Zer0 (singularity nades+Deception+Bore=a good time to be had by all except your targets). The Scorpio I like for ranges that start long and close quickly.
TL;DR- they all do jobs, but there are weapons that do them better. I don’t vendor any of them until they stop being useful, and even then I struggle with the decision.

I actually had a complete set of NVHM elemental Scorpios I kept handing down, until the last character I will create in BL2 passed on to TVHM. They went to good homes!

I didn’t think I would have more than one character, tbh. By the time I found my way to the community and realized how much more I had to experience I had already sold all of my NVHM gear. :man_facepalming: “If I could turn back time…” :wink:

This was kind of a germ of a thread idea I had a while ago but never bothered with : what would you do differently if you knew then what you know now? Which character first? All six at once? Mules?..that kind of thing.

On topic :

  • the Roksalt is one of my favourite shotguns. If pressed I’d have to give it a 4/5.
  • all Dahl guns ( except the Lascaux ) get a 2/5 from me - but I have a particular bias against them.
  • Bone Shredder gets at 4/5 although I very rarely use them.

“Better” is a loaded word, but the Jolly Roger has much higher DPS.

Jolly roger has a fixed skull and crossbone spread

Jolly Roger has a fixed pattern - similar to a Triquetra or Lascaux. The Roksalt is more precise.

Scorpio - 3 (I love that rifle, but had to give it some OP oomph to keep it competitive with my other assault rifles. I’ve been playing at OP3 for so long now though, it’s probably still quite alright in NVHM and maybe TVHM)
Lascaux - 4 (only because it doesn’t come with an element)
Gwen’s Head - 5 (I love the action on this thing)

Bone Shredder I’d give a 3.5
It’s pretty strong, has a decent magazine size. But the base accuracy is pretty bad and you need to be at close range to get the full damage potential. Any build with increased accuracy will get much better use. You’ll also want an elemental one. A corrosive one will rip through loaders. Is a beast in Maya’s hand (either with an elemental build or a Cat mod, or both!). But it is easy to farm.

Roksalt I’d give a 3
It’s one of those weapons that is a Godsend on your first playthrough but is easily outclassed. Again, if it’s got the right element on it for the area you plan to go to next, you’ll probably be happy with the results.

Orc - ?
I don’t use this weapon often enough. Kind of a pain to get. Not fond of the random nature of it’s biggest perk. At least with the Grog Nozzle you get the benefit of it always being slag and the best Moxxi healing weapon in the game.

Scorpio - 3
Same as Roksalt.

Lascaux - 2
Powerful in the right builds, but far too situational and you’re not going to get one at a decent level for awhile.

Gwen’s Head - 4
A seriously underrated weapon. Tight weapon spread even on a Dahl weapon, high bullet count per burst, relatively easy to farm, available at multiple levels. And the near instant reload speed (especially on Sal).
