How does damage stacking work for a siren?

Not sure how active it is here anymore, but it’s worth a try. How are damage bonuses, taking into account all different sources, calculated? So damage from cat mod, accelerate, wreck, slag, element, and crit. I know there are explanations, but could I please just have one in words? I suck at maths.

BL2 DPS Calculator with Skills and Gear

I haven’t tried it for myself, but it’s worth a shot

That might be hard, because the details are many and varied in their application. You can get a semi-mathematical look from this post:

Note that although that’s a TPS thread, the basic formula is the same in both games (just have slag in one and cryo in the other). The main take-away from that is that explaining how things work in words is not easy!

One thing you can do is play around with the numbers in the calculator linked by @Piemanlee and see how the resulting damage output changes. You can also do this to some extent by doing things like turning BAR on and off, or respeccing and then adding skills back in and testing on the dummy in Marcus’ range. Overall, you’ll see the damage changes for both body shots and critical hits. The main take-away you’ll notice is that the bonuses rarely stack the way you’d like them to, because that would almost certainly break the game. I’m not sure I can explain that any better without getting all mathematical though! :man_student:

How do you apply slag with the calculator? It mentions it in the instructions, but I can’t find where to input it. Otherwise great tool.

In UVHM just multiply the damage by 3 for slagged enemies
