(Im)Patient Zer0 tries to infect the Peak

Here I am again, nearing the point of frustration. TBH, I expected to be here earlier with Zer0. Like unlocking OP1 earlier. But it’s the OP2 unlock that’s spanking me now. Five attempts, five fails. They all feel like operator error, which makes me a little sad that I can’t capture video. Well, without further ado, I present to you, (Im)Patient Zer0.

No Moxxi in the backpack, I switch between Quasar and longbow slag transfusion nades. The big problem area seems to be the Assassins arena. Today he got to the second pair. I’m open to suggestions on anything. Ladies and gents, I present, for your schadenfreude enjoyment, and possible advice, (Im)Patient Zer0.

…seemed appropriate given our favourite things :stuck_out_tongue:

Firstly with the build, the one important change is from Precision to Killer.
Also Ambush works with guns as well as melee : take the point from Unforseen ( Rising Shot will serve you better than Unforseen there ).
Also I really find one point in Velocity really worth it : same deal as above.

Gear :

  • Lyuda’s a great choice but it might be worth your time getting it upgraded ( I say that because getting those to drop is frustrating ). NE or shock or even slag(!) is as good as corrosive.
  • a Bee is a great thing to have for the open areas. BAD for the arenas of course.
  • get a reliable slagger for surveyors - Slagga is the easiest is you sided with Mick. I prefer Bulets Go Fasterified and Akurate, but otherwise parts/prefixes are unimportant.

Have you tried the bee during the assassin’s part? I understand it will be risky but you can burst one by one down really fast. Use your quasar first to buy 3-4 seconds, burst them down quick while they are under the quasar’s status effect. Also the Leg Hunter Com, make that deception cool down 11 seconds. You need to buy time for 11 seconds till you can cloak again for that relief.

So, first things first. I took another stab at it and was triumphant. Suck it, Reeth. In the backpack is a 72 Bee, I am wearing a Legendary Hunter com and bone relics, I do have access to Slagga farming on other toons so I’ll grab him one before we head back.
@Jefe, I started my morning doing Dust runs and headed to the peak when I got bored. And :man_facepalming:, I just vendored an OP1 NE Lyuda yesterday. I’ll definitely try those build tweaks and post the tree’s new look with the next update.
@Abvex, because I’m not the most nimble when it comes to dodging bullets and breaking line of sight I’ve been avoiding my Bee on the peak, but I’ll try it the next time I hit a wall. Is this a recommendation to Beehawk or would any delivery device work?

If you want to compare your build with mine:

Since I InfiniBee (to save ammo for the Doc Mercy/Assassins encounters- the DPUH really chews thru it) I take Twin Fang, which gets boosted by L. Killer (also hits Ambush, Killer, Headshot and Velocity). Combine it with the crit bonus and things can die pretty fast. If you’re not using Moxxie weapons though I can see why you’d want the L. Hunter but I also keep a level 50 Blood of Terra to regen health when out of combat…

That looks like something I might try. I’ve never fought Terramorphous, but maybe I could stand a chance if I hit him at 50 with 72/OP gear. I also don’t have any on level Infinity pistols (closest is 69), so I’d probably have to spend some time smacking Ebenezer Mercy around. I do have the Bee and the Leg Killer com though, so at least part of the great farm is already done. I actually prefer my Harolds with prefixes other than DP because of the ammo consumption anyway… I’m not actively avoiding Moxxi, this toon just doesn’t have any as of yet. I could get him a Rubi easily enough… What shield do you wear when you’re not on the Infinibee? I’ve been wearing Neogenators when not amping it up with a Bee.

:+1:

The boosts it has are great for the Peak. You can swap to the Hunter if you need some quick healing though.

Carlton’s build looks great. I would personally take Excecute to close the gap for a shotgun blast ; the point could come from Velocity. Really the other points in Velocity ( but one ) can go into Unforseen - just one point goes a long way , so at 6/5 you’ve got an incredible increase. That’s a matter of play style though.

Be aware of how it affects your guns with splitting bullets. Spec one point without the COM , shoot your Harold and Lyuda at a wall - then equip the COM to see the difference.

I did this vid to demonstrate it with the Bekah :

Hallelujah! You can be my friend. I hate the DP.

That would be the best option.
Transformers are great for when you have a bunch of surveyors but a Neo will suffice.
Blockade and Antagonist are great but that involves crystals and raids - I’m not sure if you’re interested in that or not.

You probably should at some point. Transfusions only take you so far. Slag is best of course. And level is irrelevant. You could even go back to TVHM if you want and grab it there. Or borrow one from another character.

Ah, I was wondering how long until someone brought these up. You buy the Antagonist with seraph crystals, right? I could probably put down Pete with Salvester or Kriegtopher, so that would solve the Antagonist conundrum. I’d have to farm the Dragons on level for a suitable Blockade though, and I’m not sure I’m up for that. More accurately, I’m not sure I’m good enough to solo raids. But I could probably bloodsplode pete.

Always a place at my table for you. If you find yourself in or around NYC the first round is on me. :beers:

My latest Zer0 mostly wore purple, on level turtles from the loot train. If you find a good low delay one it’ll last you for a couple of OP levels.

Blockade for the damage reduction and a The Transformer for SBA surveyors- I also carry an Evolution just in case. If you’re on XBox let me know- according to my mule chart I’ve 61 different Blockades, although most of them are OP8 I do have at least one that’s level 72 and a few at level 35…

I appreciate the offer, but I’m on an old PS3, with no platform upgrade/change in sight (brand loyal to Sony to a fault because of certain exclusive titles. Although, if my PC’s were newer…). If only cross platform wasn’t blocked by the segregation policies of the game companies. :acmsad: I wish we could all play on the same Pandora.

Build change-up to accommodate com swapping from Legendary Hunter to Legendary Killer and back again. Feels pretty lethal with both coms, how am I looking? Gonna try to farm up Lyuda, Hornet, and Harold replacements before he tries the next unlock.

The only thing to consider is whether you’d get more out of Two Fang maxed than Backstab or Iron Fist.

Two Fang is great for guns with sustained fire ( Infinity is the perfect example ) and reasonable ammo consumption ( not the Lyuda or Harold  ).

If you find yourself with a good Hyperion or Vladof pistol ( Lady Fist or Anarchist for example ) , I’d max 2F.

If not then roll with what you’ve got!

I don’t roll with Hyperion guns normally, with the exception of elemental Thinkings, and I don’t expect to get on-level Infinity pistols anytime soon (although I will probably make some half-hearted attempts). My Lady Fist is 72 and I usually only whip that out with the Bee for Warrior farming. I haven’t tried working with health gate, so I take Iron Hand for the health rather than the melee damage. I’ll see how this works after I update some gear, mainly the aforementioned ammo hogs, which I expect will take some time. Thanks for the input.

Here’s to littering the peak with Digistructed corpses.

Fearless wouldn’t be a horrid switch to go for instead of Iron Fist. It can be a nice boon in FFYL situations and should be a pretty good boon for the Harold, at least, if things go to that.

I think I could spare some points for a little extra oomph when I take a knee. I’ll give it a go and see how it feels. Thank you.

Any thoughts on this build change up?

I took 4 points from Iron Hand (left 1 for the Leg Hunter) and put them into Resurgence. Possibly workable? Or better to put them into Fearless for FFYL?

You’re right - those 4 points are very optional. Resurgence only works with melee of course, so you’ll have to consciously KB. That said, it’s only 16% - so it doesn’t give you much for 4 points. It’s really a skill for the Legendary Ninja COM.

I’d probably put them into Backstab.
Otherwise, Fearless for FFYL, Kill Confirmed, Precision, maxing Two Fang (which is better than Fearless as it kind of does the same thing, just 100% of the time).

Precicion is nice for some spready shotguns if you’re using those. Doesn’t make too much of a difference otherwise.

Fearless can work for a FFYL boost but Velocity and 2F both up your DPS rather unconditionally so they they are more worth it (the latter should affect you quite a bit more).

Yeah, Backstab is way more worth it than Resurgence although I’ll admit I don’t even know what kind of damage a roidless, non-ninja Zer0 can do on an execute. Probably not all that much. My gut says boosting guns would be worth more with what I’d imagine your playstyle is but I might be wrong.

I will typically recommend Execute because in most cases your points are there in Grim and Followthrough anyways. It’s rarely used for melee (unless you’re Executing into your decoy to have Unforseen do the job) but rather as a gap-closer on larger maps. I use it all the time on the Peak to get closer to a target.
