So… Nisha is the best Holodome crusher no surprise here, I think sub 10 mins run is impressive. And the Excalibastard is so good on her and much better than Fridgia. It has a great utility for freezing enemies. If you have your kill skills up shooting an enemy with the Excalibastard it is almost a guaranteed freeze. And insane accuracy of it, wide ammo pool and decent swap speed on lasers do make it even better. Why isn’t it on the top gear for her?
It used to be, but I had to make choices to not bloat the list too much. Competition in the laser category is really good.
I will look at your videos to evaluate if your playstyle isn’t making it way better than I think it is once I have a proper PC to watch them on, and see if there is something to it.
@khimerakiller what’s your take on this ?
You already know the Icebringer really likes it. But based on my memory, I never liked it as a freezing tool when it actually came to firing the gun. It’s very sub-par without kill skills, and with them the gun overall feels clunky.
The Fridgia and T4s-r are still king in my mind. But while I think the Mining Laser may be a bit better of a cryo tool, with my build taken into consideration, I think the Excalibastard brings more to the table for Nisha. And I think back in the day I proposed it replace the ML too.
@FailyFailracer if you like the Excal for it’s ranged reliability, I’d suggest you compare it to dual redundant T4s-rs as a new baseline.
@khimerakiller I wouldn’t compare it to dual Redunadant T4s-rs for a few reasons: ammo consumption on them, shredding through the ammo pool of Nisha’s main DPS guns and overall slight non-reliability. Even the Fridgia cannot allow you to freeze an enemy in a one quick shot reliably. Btw, of course I suggest using it mostly with the kill skills up, yeah, although it can be reliably used while not having the kill skills if you possess a good ability to aim. And It just amazes me how Nisha fixes all of this gun’s drawbacks: firerate — fixed, because of killskills, Showdown and Hell’s coming with me (the last one seems to be the most important to me), maybe Unchained; critical hits — done, bc of Tombstone; overall bad hit detection on railguns — fixed, bc of both Tombstone and Trick shot. I suppose it is a great case of synergy where a character can make a good gun great fixing all of its problems.
Nisha is just insane. Cool run tho
She is insanely overpowered, yeah. However, playing her is no more guilty pleasure to me, as pulling off some speedkils or doing runs like this one does give a bit of a challenge.
Been a while since i was on Elpis. Nice run. I don’t remember ever doing it under 10 min. Nice!
This run of mine seems to be the best ever performed, because I haven’t found anything that quite matches it either on YouTube or the Time Trials Thread. And I feel like it is very hard to beat it. The same with my Athena Sentinel run, which, by the way is the best time among all the Vault Hunters (Athena The Gladiator vs. The Invincible Sentinel (2:09)).
One of the hardest challenges I found in TPS was the mutator rounds. Fighting Shadow Trap on a full cake is insane.
The challenge i was unable to pull off, was taking that full cake difficulty and traveling to DSR and trying to kill it. I couldn’t pull it off in the few attempts I tried.
edit: correction on the shadow trap full cake scenario, I did it with a two man party solo. I had to go it alone after my buddy died upon Shadow trap spawning. that was really hard, I remember having to go and re-up my ammo pool several times cause Shadow’s health regen was too much for my flayer without a kill skill. super tough.
Ohhh, two-player full cake Sh4dow-tp is a real deal. And DSR, ofc.
Maybe, not for Athena. Although I hasn’t really played much in co-op.
And, maybe, shield, not health regen?
Hmmm, I don’t remember any enemy health regen modes in the mutator arena…
Believe me, it happens. full cake mutator shadow trap, yes! Definitely health regen.
I would compare what shadow trap had going on to the original Borderlands when wearing a Pearl Alacritous Rose with it’s health regen effect upon your health dropping below health gate or whatever the threshold is. where the regen effect is stronger the lower your health goes in an attempt to keep you from FFYL. but doesn’t regen your health for very long. only long enough to get you out of the low percent range it’s set to.
Hmm, that is strange. Gotta check it out then.
I have been searching for evidence to support my comments. I only found older comments from myself on the same topic. lol here you go…way back in 2015. lol
edit: now that I’m thinking about this, I did this 3 years ago, there may have been a patch that I’m unaware of that fixed that.
Thank you, I appreciate it, will still do my own research and will also check the patchnotes.
Well, looking through the patchnotes I didn’t find anything, so I guess, I will go to the arena myself and return with a video proof of him regenerating/not regenerating his health.
Well. I defeated op9 ShadowTrap and he didn’t regen health kinda. Though I did it in single and with Willy. Maybe that’s a co-op thing?
