(UCP 4.0) Is there any unique and fun fun builds for Zero?

I really want a build for Zero that would spice things up for me? something that’s also viable for endgame op 8 content? maybe even raid boss viable? I don’t know really… I’ve tried making my own build but I just… I’m just really bad at making builds… I even downloaded a save file that was max level and had a bunch of gear but I just couldn’t… I tried finding builds but I haven’t found any that caught my eye… can anyone help me?

I don’t use UCP but from what I remember from the changes it’s not like he’s a radically different character from vanilla. There are end game viable builds in vanilla for Zer0. What kind of a build were you trying to make? What kind of guns would you like to use? Can you post your build using this?

I think this was the best skill tree I had before, I don’t know… I had the skill tree but I ended up losing it… but I was trying to go for more of a “in and out” similar to a run’n’gun play style, I’m not a fan of just staying in the back shooting enemies so I was trying to go for something like “like the wind” and utilize deception to get enemy aggro off of me… I’m a fan of mid to close range weapons like smgs or shotguns

Hmmh, alright. Keep in mind I’m looking at this through vanilla lenses because I’m not using UCP I know Like the wind got a buff but I don’t know what it was. So if you are using the patch take this with a grain of salt. Or take it with a grain of salt anyway because you shouldn’t blindly follow everything you read

  • If you aren’t going for a melee build going down below execute for resurgence and like the wind is not worth it. Like the wind is a small buff with a silly condition and resurgence isn’t useful without MMF and the melee tools to make it work. That’s 9 points that would be better spent elsewhere.

  • Unforeseen is pretty great after the 2015 patch. I use it at endgame myself. Fearless is not that great IMO so those points could be switched and throw 1 point from the melee left overs there. If you want to of course.

  • With the 8 left over points if you aren’t using anything that Velocity messes with I’d suggest investing 5 points into that. It’s especially good for shotgun and there are very few SMG’s that it changes.

  • Leftover points into precicion. Not a big deal but it does help with both shotties and SMG’s.

You have to keep in mind that Zero is one of the worst SMG and AR users in the game. I did my suggestions without thinking of them too much. If you really like SMG’s you want Two fang at 5/5 (or 10/5 with a COM) instead of precicion and some velocity. With shotguns Zero is better with a lot of single shot power for deception shots instead of being really good with high fire rate but lower power ones but those can still work as main mobbing guns. You don’t have to stay in the back but if you are up front you need to move constantly and make use of terrain to protect yourself because Zero really can’t tank. In and out of cover constantly and try to jump over stuff that tries to bite your face off if that doesn’t end up jumping into the maws of other things.

I second everything Lammas said : UCP or no, his build makes a lot more sense.
I think the UCP swapped Grim and Fearless ( which in theory makes sense, but in practice doesn’t imo ) - so you’ll have to modify the Bloodshed tree if that’s the case ( take Iron Hand so you can get to Followthrough and Execute ).

They switched skill from Bloodshed and Cunning and switched Fearless while leaving C0unterstrike in Cunning?

This is with the UCP patch, look good?

Looks that way

From what I remember UCP put damage resistance on Iron hand? It’s better as you aren’t throwing away points in skills that you make no use of. Try it out.

If you feel like you need more DMG output I’d put velocity points and perhaps even 2 points from Grim into Two fang. Losing Grim is a hit on your survivality though.

EDIT: also if you still feel like it’s not good enough it might be your gear. OP8 can get a bit ruthless. If you’re not feeling the results post your guns and maybe we can give you suggestions for similar but better ones.

I suppose the next obvious question would be : what COM are you using? or want to use?
( and if you know if any of those COMs are tweaked, that would be helpful to know )

That’s a big one I didn’t even think of.

Also now that you specced into Unforeseen I’ll just say that it’s got somethings of a learning curve. If can kill stuff like regular psychoes and pup skags outright with deathmark. With it’s electrocution it’s good for taking out shields from enemies but your bullet may hit before the lightning does. You may not always be in a spot to throw it in front of someone instead of just tossing it aside like you’d probably normally do. Sometimes it’s worth going for the fray just to throw it in the middle of enemies. Also if you are near your hologram when it explodes it’s going to shake your aim which is honestly really ■■■■■■■ annoying but you’ll get used to when it’d going to happen.
